Included with the set is a fine
modern custom leather-bound
transport case which contains
both pistols and the following
included accessories: three
screwdrivers, one barrel rod, one
brush, two oil containers and one
stripper clip.
CONDITION: Exceptionally fine,
with 85% plus original blue
and 90% casehardened finish
overall. The barrel shows areas
of brown patina, and some wear
along the high edges. Vivid
case color is present on the
frame and sideplate, with some
silvering along the edges. Grips
and side panels are excellent,
with attractive grain and minor
dings. Mechanically excellent.
The clip is long enough to hang
out the bottom of the magazine,
but otherwise a good fit. The
accessories are excellent. B)
Bittner Model 1896 Pistol -
Serial no. 49, 7.7 mm cal., 6 inch
octagon bbl., blue/casehardened
finish, checkered hardwood
grips. Configured as and cased
with item “A”, with a lanyard ring,
the barrel marked “1082. 97” on
the underside, “49” on the grip
frame and in pencil on the grips
and magazine panel.
CONDITION: Fine, with 70%
of the original blue and
casehardened finish, with
patches of shallow pitting
on the barrel, underside
of the magazine housing,
and backstrap and traces of
protective varnish overall. The
barrel shows areas of brown
patina with bright edge wear,
and the frame showing strong
case colors, brightest on the
left side, with some edge wear.
The grips are very good, with
some dings and minor chips.
Mechanically excellent.
