CONDITION: Very good, well above average
as Confederate issued, exhibits a mix of gray
and brown patina with some scattered light
patches of pitting, the brass trigger guard
retains an attractive untouched golden aged
patina with some spots of darkening, and the
punch dot markings and edges are defined
overall. The nicely figured walnut grip is fine
with a few minor handling marks and some
flaking of the outer glossy varnish finish.
Absent loading lever retaining screw, half
absent head on the wedge retaining screw,
and an absent front trigger guard screw.
Loading lever hangs up due to not having
a retaining screw, otherwise mechanically
fine. The custom made case is very good
with a few cracks visible on the lid and
some light aging on the relined interior. This
exceptionally rare Dance & Brothers revolver
would be a prized addition in any Texas, Civil
War or Confederate arms collection!
Estimate: 55,000 - 85,000
