Factory Game Scene Engraved W. W. Greener Facile Princeps Double Barrel Shotgun - Serial no.
66934, 12 gauge, 28 inch solid rib bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1931 according to page 199 of Graham
Greener’s “The Greener Story”. Built with blued steel barrels featuring a single bead sight on the matted concave solid rib which is marked with the
Greener address and a game bird surrounded by foliate scrollwork, two wedges of scroll on either breech, import mark under the forend, and chambers with ejectors.
The gun shows Birmingham proof marks for 10 bore and the diameters measure .780 inches, though the chambers are 12 gauge. The barrels are fitted to the casehardened
Facile Princeps action which displays extensive scroll engraving surrounding carved fences, signature banners on either side, a setter on the left, mallards on the underside, a setter on
the right, and a bird on the triggerguard. The gun features double triggers and a Greener style safety with gold inlaid “SAFE” indicator. The gun is fitted with a beautifully figured and fancy
checkered forend with engraved iron and a horn tip as well as a straight hand stock with horn inlaid drop points, blank gold inscription oval, and a Pachmayr Old English recoil pad. Barrel and stock
measurements (R/L): bore diameter nine inches from the breech both .780 inches; choke constriction .051/.051 inches; minimum wall thickness .038/.037 inches; 1 9/16 inch drop at comb; 2 3/8 inch
drop at heel; 14 3/16 inch length of pull; cast-off; weight 8 lbs.
CONDITION: Very fine overall as professionally restored, retaining 85% blue finish with much of the loss on the lower tang, strong traces of original case colors with the balance a fine silver, minor
spotting, a small crack at the rear of the upper tang, and crisp checkering on the wood. Mechanically excellent.

Factory Engraved Charles Hellis Sidelock Double Barrel Shotgun - Serial no. 3939-1, 12 gauge, 26 inch solid rib bbl., blue/
brushed bright finish, walnut stock. Manufactured between 1931 and 1934 according to Nigel Brown’s “British Gunmakers Volume One: London”.
Built with blued steel barrels featuring a single bead sight on the smooth concave solid rib which is faintly signed with the Hellis address as well as
a gold “1” in scroll engraving, band of engraving at the breech, import mark under the forend, choke constrictions of .006/.040 inches, and 2 1/2 inch chambers with ejectors.
The barrels are fitted to the brushed bright sidelock action which displays extensive foliate scroll engraving surrounding “C. HELLIS & SONS Ltd.” banners on either lockplate and a
gold “1” on the toplever. The gun features dual triggers (front articulated), right hand rolled trigger guard, and a tang mounted automatic safety with gold inlaid “SAFE”. The gun is fitted with
a beautifully figured and multi-point checkered forend with engraved iron and a gold “1” on the Anson button as well as a straight hand stock with carved drop points, blank inscription oval, and
checkered bare butt. Stock measurements: 1 1/2 inch drop at comb; 2 1/16 inch drop at heel; 14 13/16 inch length of pull; slight cast-on; weight 6 lbs. 8 oz.
CONDITION: Very fine as professionally refurbished, retaining 99% blue and brushed bright finishes, minor handling evidence, and crisp wood checkering. Mechanically excellent.

Factory Engraved W & C Scott 10 Gauge Boxlock
Double Barrel Shotgun with Case - Serial no. 71913,
10 gauge, 32 inch solid rib bbl., blue/casehardened
finish, walnut stock. Completed circa 1903 according
to page 141 of Nigel Brown’s “British Gunmakers
Volume Two”. Built with blued steel barrels featuring a
single bead sight on the matted flat solid rib, standard
barrel markings, a band of engraving at the breech, period
Birmingham nitro proof marks, choke constrictions of .042/.048 inches, and 2 7/8 inch chambers
with ejectors. The barrels are fitted to the casehardened boxlock action which features a Greener
crossbolt, double triggers, and a tang mounted automatic safety and displays attractive scroll engraving with “W & C.
SCOTT & SON” on either side. The gun is fitted with a nicely figured and multi-point checkered forend with engraved iron and a pistol grip stock with horn grip cap, blank inscription oval, and a leather covered recoil pad.
Includes a leather flat case containing snap caps, oiler, and cleaning tools. Stock measurements: 1 5/8 inch drop at comb; 2 7/16 inch drop at heel; 14 3/16 inch length of pull; cast-off; weight 10 lbs. 15 oz.
CONDITION: Very good overall, retaining 85% original blue finish, 80% original case colors, some minor spotting, and mild handling evidence. The freshened wood has some high edge wear, a few light dings and scratches, and
well-defined checkering. Mechanically excellent. The case is very fine.

Double Barrel Shotgun with Case - Serial
no. 3011, 12 gauge, 29 inch solid rib bbl., blue/
casehardened finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in
1930 according to page 139 of Nigel Brown’s “British
Gunmakers Volume Two: Birmingham, Scotland,
and the Regions”. Built with blued chopperlump
barrels with a single bead sight on the smooth
solid rib which is marked “C. S. ROSSON & Co. RAMPANT HORSE STREET. NORWICH. MADE
OF SIR JOSEPH WHITWORTH’S FLUID PRESSED STEEL”, period London proof marks, import
mark under the forend, and 2 1/2 inch chambers with ejectors. The barrels are fitted to the casehardened
sidelock bar-action which displays classic English bouquet and scroll engraving with “C. S. ROSSON & Co.”
signatures on either lockplate. The gun features bushed firing pins, double triggers, gold centerlined cocking
indicators, and a tang mounted automatic safety with gold inlaid “SAFE”. The gun is fitted with a beautifully figured and multi-point checkered forend with engraved iron as well as a straight hand stock with carved drop points,
“M.B.” in the gold inscription oval, and a leather covered recoil pad. Includes a leather flat case with “M.B.” on the lid and containing snap caps and a cleaning rod. Barrel and stock measurements (R/L): bore diameter nine inches from
the breech .735/.732 inches; choke constriction .011/.017 inches; minimum wall thickness .024/.024 inches; 1 9/16 inch drop at comb; 2 1/4 inch drop at heel; 14 11/16 inch length of pull; weight 6 lbs. 8 oz.
CONDITION: Very fine overall, retaining 95% professionally reapplied blue finish with much of the loss on the lower tang, 70% original case colors with the balance a fine silver patina, some minor spotting, light handling evidence,
and sharp checkering on the stock and forend. Mechanically excellent. The case is very good.
