CONDITION: Exceptionally fine, retains 85%
plus of the original blue finish, 80% plus of the
vibrant original case colors, and 98% plus of the
bright, professionally restored nitre blue on the
loading gate with the balance having thinned
to mostly a grey patina, some scattered light
handling marks, and a few small patches of
freckling on the receiver. The wood is very fine
with some scattered light dings/scratches and a
few small white scuffs near the toe. Mechanically
excellent. A very fine example of an early
production Winchester Model 1886 in a very
desirable special order configuration including a
scarce matted barrel and powerful .45-90 caliber!
