In his notes, Mr. Pemberton indicated he purchased the revolver in 1990 and several scraps of oil soaked paper were in the pocket of the
gun sleeve that came with the gun at the time of purchase. Only one piece of paper was legible. It read, “J. Coughlin—undertaker Middletn
Conn.” John Bernard Coughlin (1881-1932) was a funeral director for 30 years in Middletown, Connecticut. He was representative-elect to
the State of Connecticut Legislature in 1932. Coughlin’s special deputy sheriff badge in a leather holder is included.
CONDITION: Excellent plus, 99% overall. A benchmark example of a factory engraved First Generation Colt Single Action Army.
