round bbl., nickel finish,
walnut stock. Manufactured
in Switzerland c. 1913-1919, and subsequently upgraded
current configuration as a single shot light harpoon gun for nautical/whaling purposes. Featuring a folding two-circle left rear sight (without a front sight) on the replacement barrel, a de-activated and fixed box magazine, the Swiss
“BP” (bernerprobe) and “cross” proofs retained on the receiver ring, along with additional Swiss “cross” proofs retained on multiple smaller components. Fitted with a modified Swiss K11 pattern stock featuring a reshaped forend
with an integrated line bucket attachment rod and a solid rubber recoil pad fixed to the buttstock. Includes a grey painted detachable line bucket, a grey painted hardwood transport case, four folding barb steel harpoon bolts, and
a hardwood dowel rod.
CONDITION: Very fine as upgraded into a light nautical harpoon gun, retaining 90% plus added nickel plating with dried grease in the action, a greenish surface patina/tint across the nickeled surfaces, a few specs of freckling, some
light handling wear, and clear original Swiss markings. The stock is fine as modified and varnished with some minor handling marks and grate patter finish wear on the left side. Mechanically excellent. The Harpoon bolts are very
fine. The case is very good.

Fine C.G. Bonehill 16 Gauge Single Barrel
Harpoon Gun, with Harpoon - Serial no. 1001,
16 gauge, 20 1/2 inch round bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut
stock. Manufactured c.1927. Single bead front sight on the barrel, with
the Birmingham address on the top chamber flat, importer mark on the
underside,
and markings
for nitro
proof and a 2 1/2 inch chamber on the underside. The
solid bar pattern frame is attractively casehardened with light floral and border
engraving, with a similarly finished and decorated sideplate with a rebounding
hammer, single trigger, and a rubber finger pad on the rear of the triggerguard.
Fitted with a checkered forearm and pistol grip stock, the latter marked “IRP/28-
10-44” on an inscription panel on the belly and an unmarked solid recoil pad. One
harpoon is included, approximately 26 inches long with a sliding connection bracket for
a line and a 2 3/4 inch wide alloy head with hinged flues.
CONDITION: Fine, with 95% of the refinished blue finish on barrel, showing minor spotting, scattered light scratches, and
traces of protective varnish, 70% bright original case color on frame with mild handling marks overall. The stock is fine, with some varnish loss, scuffs and dents, and the recoil pad is
drying out and cracking. Mechanically excellent. The harpoon is in fine condition, a bit of a tight fit to the bore.
