Engraved, and Gold Highlighted Caesar
Guerini 28 Gauge Revenant Over/Under
Shotgun with Case - Serial no. 171596, 28 gauge,
28 inch solid rib bbl., blue/coin/gold finish, walnut
stock. Built with blued mono-block bifurcated
lump barrels featuring a single nickel bead sight
on the matted flat solid rib, standard factory
markings, 2022 dated Italian proof marks on the
flat, interchangeable chokes (skeet/skeet installed),
and 2 3/4 inch chambers with automatic ejectors. The barrels are fitted to the gorgeous coin finished sideplated round body action which displays highly
attractive near full coverage leafy engraving with gold highlighted leaves and intertwining branches over a darkened background surrounding “CAESAR/
GUERINI” on either side, “REVENANT” on the underside, and two game scenes. The scenes consist of a nide of pheasants on the left with a gold cock
taking flight and a covey of quail on the right with a gold quail cock taking flight. The engraving is signed “Bottega C. Giovanelli” for the famous firm
that carried out the engraving, which was designed by Master Engraver Dario Cortini, also of the firm. The gun features a single gold trigger and a tang mounted manual safety. The gun is fitted
with a beautiful highly figured and multi-point checkered English style forend with matching engraved iron and a swept back pistol grip stock with checkered wood buttplate. Includes a factory
takedown case as well as 10 extra choke tubes (cylinder, two skeet, three improved cylinder, two modified, light modified, and full). Barrel and stock measurements (U/O): bore diameter nine
inches from the breech both measured .551 inches; minimum wall thickness .025/.027 inches; 1 7/16 inch drop at comb; 2 3/16 inch drop at heel; 14 3/4 inch length of pull; cast-off;
weight 6 lbs. 13 oz.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% original blue and coin finishes, some loss of gold on a few of the leaves, minor handling evidence, and sharp checkering on the stock and forend.
Mechanically excellent. The case is very fine.
