Very Fine Special Order Winchester Model 92 Lever Action Takedown
Rifle in .25-20 W.C.F. - Serial no. 908507, 25-20 WCF cal., 24 inch octagon bbl.,
blue finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1920, with Winchester factory oval proofs on

address and patent markings and the caliber marking at the breech. The upper tang is marked with the three-line model and trademark
information, and the serial number is marked on the bottom of the receiver. It is fitted with a blade front sight, elevation adjustable rear
sight, and a special order half magazine, with the rifle in takedown configuration.
CONDITION: Very fine, with 80% plus of the bright, original, high polish blue finish with some light flaking on the receiver and takedown
collar showing a brown patina. The wood is also very fine with a few scattered minor dents and dings. Mechanically excellent.

Desirable Special Order Winchester “Semi-Deluxe” Model 1894 Lever
Action Takedown Rifle - Serial no. 440968, 30 WCF cal., 26 inch octagon bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1909,
this is a solid example of a special ordered Winchester Model 1894 takedown rifle, in what has come to be known among some collectors as “semi-deluxe”
configuration. Considering that many customers who were willing to pay extra for special order features had the money to order fully deluxe rifles, these “semi-deluxe” rifles
are considerably less common than their high-grade, deluxe counterparts. Along with this, the “semi-deluxe” configured rifles often appear to have been ordered with use in mind and are
typically found showing more use than the deluxe rifles, making higher condition examples scarce. According to the research compiled by Oswalt and Hawk regarding Winchester Model 1894 serial numbers up to
353999, many of the special order features on this rifle are not necessarily uncommon on their own, but in combination together with the “semi-deluxe” checkered wood make for a rarely seen Model 1894 configuration.
It has the standard Winchester factory oval proofs on the barrel and receiver at the breech. The barrel is marked with the two-line address/patent dates and caliber marking on the top flat, as well as the nickel steel marking on
the upper left. The upper tang has the three-line model and trademark information, while the serial number is on the bottom of the receiver. The left side of the lower tang is marked “7234 R”, while the butt of the stock is marked
“92/T/11465” and then “7234” in pencil. It is fitted with a Marble’s beaded globe “Improved” front sight, elevation adjustable No. 24 notch rear sight, and a Lyman combination peep sight on the upper tang. It is also fitted with a
special order half magazine and non-factory sling swivels. It is mounted with a straight grain, I-pattern checkered forearm and pistol grip stock with a hard rubber grip cap and a checkered steel shotgun buttplate.
CONDITION: Fine, retains 60% plus of the original blue finish and strong traces of original case colors on the hammer and lever with the balance having thinned to mostly a smooth grey patina, primarily around the takedown collar
and upper edges of the receiver. The wood is very good with some scattered minor scratches and dings, as well as moderately worn checkering. Mechanically excellent. These “semi-deluxe” Winchester Model 1894s are difficult to
find in fine condition!

Desirable Antique Winchester Model 1886 Lever
Action Rifle - Serial no. 71713, 40-82 WCF cal., 26 inch
octagon bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut stock.
Manufactured in 1892, this is a very fine example of a
Winchester Model 1886 rifle. Designed by John Moses
Browning, the Model 1886 was a very welcome addition
to the Winchester lineup. The 1886 marked a significant
departure from Winchester’s previous toggle-link designs,
which had not only shown their vulnerabilities, but
also their limits when it came to handling powerful cartridges. The Model 1886 featured a new
locking-block action with strong vertical locking blocks which proved to be more rugged and capable of
handling much more powerful cartridges. For these reasons, the Winchester ‘86 was immediately embraced
by those on the frontier who were in search of dependable firepower, and many of these gun went on to lead hard working lives in
the American West. This example is certainly in well above average condition, showing all the signs of a very well-cared for frontier companion and has the
desirable, earlier production, casehardened frame, which was standard until around 1900. The top barrel flat has the standard two-line Winchester address and the
caliber marking is at the breech. The serial number is marked on the lower tang. It is fitted with a Lyman beaded blade “Jack Sight” in the front dovetail, an elevation
adjustable No. 24 notch rear sight, and a Lyman combination peep sight on the upper tang. It is mounted with a smooth forearm and straight grip stock with a crescent buttplate.
CONDITION: Fine, retains 70% of the faded original blue finish with some slight thinning, primarily on edges and near the muzzle, 30% of the original case colors on the receiver with the
balance grey patina, and 50% of the original nitre blue on the loading gate. The wood is also fine with scattered minor handling marks, typical of a well-cared for working gun. Mechanically excellent.
A fine, honest example of Winchester’s venerable Model 1886!
