Extraordinary Large Gilt Bronze Eagle Statue Made by O. Luetke New York on St. Agnes Guild Inscribed Pedestal - This statue depicts a large Eagle with wings spread in an elegant display of triumph and head looking to the sky above. The creature is depicted in bronze which has been gilt. The back and wings have taps cut, possibly for a previous hanging display. The statue sits atop a pedestal made of brass with a ball at its top and claw feet. On the ball between the eagles feet is “Given/by/ST. Agnes Guild” in old English font. The middle band is die stamp marked “O. Luetke N.Y.” The Guild of St. Agnes is a child care non-profit group which was founded in 1913. They strive to give the opportunity for affordable quality early childhood education. The statues measures 65 inches tall, 27 1/4 inches wide, and 22 inches deep. CONDITION: Extremely fine overall, the statue and pedestal show some storage and handling marks, repairs at the base of the wings some spots of gilt loss on the chest and wings of the eagle, and an attractive patina on the pedestal. The inscription is clear. Estimate: 7,500 - 15,000

Framed Exceptional Unsigned Caribbean Ship Trader Harbor Scene Oil Painting - This unsigned painting shows the hilltop view from an unknown Caribbean location as ships sail into a bay. The front ship appears to be a steam wheel vessel of some sort while the others are traditional sailing vessels. The ship in the middle also appears to be flying the earliest flag of the United States. The banks of the bay have several fortifications, one of which can be seen firing upon the ships. On the hilltop in the foreground is three people observing the battle. To the right can be seen a man on horseback with a rifle. Across the bay is more hilltops and a clear blue sky. The painting is housed in a plain wooden frame. Frame and painting measures 24 inches by 30 inches. CONDITION: Fine, with crazing of the image and handling marks on the frame. Estimate: 1,500 - 3,000
