Scarce Documented Factory Engraved Parker Brothers 28 Gauge GHE Grade Double Barrel Shotgun - Serial no. 213790, 28 gauge, 26 inch solid rib bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1925 on a “00” frame. According to the table on page 279 of “The Parker Story” by Gunther, Mullins, Parker, Price, and Cote, this is one of only 64 built with this combination of grade, gauge, barrel length, and barrel steel. Blued Parker Special Steel barrels with dual white bead sights on the matted, concave solid rib with doll’s head extension marked “PARKER BROS MAKERS. MERIDEN. CT. U.S.A. PARKER SPEC. STEEL”, standard markings on the flats including the “P.S.” for Parker Special Steel, and 2 1/2 inch chambers
with ejectors. Casehardened actions featuring standard GH engraving of oval game bird scenes on the left, right, and underside surrounded by light scrollwork and line borders. Double triggers, standard markings on the water table, and tang mounted automatic safety. Nicely figured, multi-point checkered splinter forearm with Deeley latch and engraved fittings and a pistol grip stock with Parker Brothers grip cap, blank silver inscription shield, and Hawkins red rubber recoil pad. The above configuration is confirmed on page 532 of “Parker Gun Identification & Serialization” by Price and Fjestad. Barrel and stock measurement (R/L): bores nine inches from the breech .556/.556 inches; choke constriction .021/.021 inches; minimum wall .029/.028 thickness inches; 1 9/16 inch drop at comb; 2 3/4 inch drop at heel; 14 1/8 inch length of pull; weight 5 lbs 14 oz. CONDITION: Very fine as professionally refinished by the Turnbull shop, retaining 98% blue, 95% case colors, and minor handling evidence. The wood is also very fine with a few minor marks and sharp checkering. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 14,000 - 22,500

CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 90% plus original blue, 90% original case colors, some wear along the barrels, and light
