Assault Insignia and Decorations - The lot contains 5 pairs of metal jump wings (one with a single star on the risers), 1 pair of Air Assault wings, 8 background trim patches (one with integral embroidered jump wings), 8 “U.S.” collar pins, a pair of captain’s bars, and a Presidential Unit Citation ribbon. Also included are 6 “crossed rifle” infantry pins (2 each for the 501st and 504th,
1 each for the 325th
and the 508th), and 13
unit insignia pins (four
“GERONIMO” pins for the
501st PIR, two “LET’S GO”
pins for the 325th PIR,
four “CURRAHEE” pins
for the 506th PIR, one
“LOOK OUT BELOW” pin
for the 376th Parachute
Field Artillery Battalion,
and two Airborne Troop
Carrier pins).

Eleven Fine World War II Unit Patches, Including Patches for T-Force and the 98th Field Artillery Battalion - The grouping includes a set of Ranger “scroll” patches representing the 1st through 7th Ranger Battalions, with two for the 5th Battalion (one noted by the consignor as English-made), and the 4th Battalion scroll noted as Italian construction, along with a patch for the 83rd Chemical Battalion (which deployed via glider into Southern France during Operation Dragoon to provide heavy mortar support), a scarce “Jackass” patch for the 98th Field Artillery Battalion, and a scarce French-made patch for “T Force”. The 98th Field Artillery started life as a horse
and mule powered pack artillery unit, but when mule-hauled artillery was declared obsolete the unit CO decided to convert the outfit into the 6th Ranger Battalion, which distinguished itself in the Philippines, particularly during the “Great Raid”
of the Cabanatuan POW camp. T-Force was a joint U.S./British effort to prevent vital resources from either being destroyed by the Nazis or captured by the Soviets, up to and including the remnants of the Nazi atomic bomb program.
CONDITION: Very good overall, with mild staining and wear on the Ranger and 83rd Chemical patches.

Grouping of U.S. Airborne Artifacts, Including Parachute Artillery Insignia
- The grouping
includes a number of Glider and Parachute Badges (both official pattern and service commemorative),
a Combat Infantry Badge, five artillery collar badges (one marked “602”), a
brass ring inscribed “SICILY/1943”, Army- Navy “E” production pin, six rank insignia (one 1st lieutenant, 5 captain), and multiple patches, including a 4 1/4” diameter round patch for the 460th Parachute Field Artillery Battalion. The 460th saw action in Italy, Southern France and the Ardennes Forest, airdropping for Operation Dragoon. CONDITION: Very good, with mild wear and handling marks.
