Auto-Ordnance/West Hurley Model 1928 Thompson Fully Automatic Class III/NFA Transferable Submachine Gun with Box and Accessories - Serial no. 181TF, 45 ACP cal., 10 1/2 inch fluted bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Manufactured by the Auto-Ordnance Corporation of West Hurley, New York, circa 1980. These were all new production weapons with new manufactured parts and assemblies, modeled after the original Thompson patterns. Blade and folding ladder sights, with the Cutts compensator and cooling fins on the barrel, a 1928 pattern bolt assembly (sans oiler), horizontal forearm, ribbed pistol grip and a quick detachable buttstock with a green canvas sling. Included with the item is a matching hand-numbered shipping box, a spare forearm (pistol grip configuration), an Auto-Ordnance Type L 50-round drum magazine and one extra stick magazine.
CONDITION: Fine, with 95% of the original blue finish, showing some
light wear and handling marks on the exterior. The wood is also fine, with contrasting color and mild dents and scratches overall. Significant damage has occurred to the barrel; it appears someone tried to fire the weapon with a wooden plug lodged in the muzzle, resulting in bulging and splitting near the compensator (needs another barrel, unsure of any other damage). Otherwise mechanically fine.
