 LOT 3040 Excellent Pre-World War II Marlin Model 39-A Lever Action Rifle - Serial no. B2981, 22 S L L R cal., 24 inch round bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1940 as indicated by the “B” serial number prefix with beaded blade front and adjustable sporting rear sights, standard barrel markings, smooth forearm and pistol grip stock, and serrated buttplate. CONDITION: Excellent. 99% original blue finish remains with a few light handling marks. The receiver has 98% plus original vibrant case colors with some light cycling marks on the hammer, and minor silvering on the lever. The wood is also excellent with a few scattered dings with the most noticeable being on the toe of buttstock. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 2,000 - 3,000
LOT 3041 Excellent Marlin Model 1936 Lever Action Rifle - Serial no. B2708, 30-30 cal., 20 inch round bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1941. This rifle features beaded blade front and elevation adjustable rear sights. The barrel features the standard Marlin legend on the left side under the rear sight and caliber marking on the top behind the rear sight at the breech. The casehardened long tang receiver is marked “MARLIN SAFETY” on the top. Mounted with a smooth carbine forend and pistol grip stock with hard rubber buttplate. CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 97% plus original blue finish and vivid case colors with limited handling marks and slightly muted case colors on the lever. Wood is very fine with a few scattered dings and scratches. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 1,600 - 2,500
LOT 3042 Early Production Four Digit Serial Number Marlin Model 39 Lever Action Rifle - Serial no. 1281, 22 S L LR cal., 24 inch octagon bbl., blue/ casehardened finish, walnut stock. Features beaded blade front and elevation adjustable rear sights on the octagon barrel with two line Marlin Firearms Corporation legend and caliber marking at the frame on the top left barrel flat. Casehardened takedown receiver with “Marlin/MOD. 39” marking on upper tang. Fitted with a plain walnut forend and pistol grip buttstock. CONDITION: Very fine, retaining 97% plus original blue finish and 95% original case colors with scattered handling marks, some loss at the front of the receiver. Much of the varnish remaining on the otherwise fine buttstock with heat induced crazing visible in the varnish and scattered dings and scratches on the forend. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 1,600 - 2,500

Manufactured in 1940 as indicated by the “B” serial number prefix with beaded blade front and adjustable sporting rear sights, standard barrel markings, smooth forearm and pistol grip stock, and serrated buttplate. CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 98% plus original blue and 90% original case colors with scattered handling marks, some pitting on the top tang, and pitting on the lever. Wood is very fine with limited handling marks and a few small dings. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 1,600 - 2,500
LOT 3044 Marlin Model 39 Lever Action Rifle - Serial no. 10490, 22 S L LR cal., 24 inch octagon bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut stock. Features globe front sight and block filled rear dovetail on the octagon barrel with two line Marlin Firearms Corporation legend and caliber marking at the frame on the top left barrel flat. Casehardened takedown receiver with “Marlin/MOD. 39” marking on upper tang covered by a tang peep sight. Fitted with a plain walnut forend and pistol grip buttstock. CONDITION: Very fine, retaining 90% original blue finish and 95% refinished case colors with scattered light handling marks, some wear on the lever and forward magazine tube, and some pitting on the receiver. Wood is fine as reoiled with scattered dings and scratches. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 1,000 - 1,600
LOT 3045 Marlin Model 39 Lever Action Rifle - Serial no. S9387, 22 S L LR cal., 24 inch round bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut stock. Features hooded front and elevation adjustable rear sight on the octagon barrel with two line Marlin Firearms Corporation legend and caliber marking at the frame on the top left barrel flat. Casehardened takedown receiver with “Marlin/MOD. 39” marking on upper tang as well as the Marlin star proof. Fitted with a plain walnut forend and pistol grip buttstock. CONDITION: Very fine, retaining 95% original blue finish with and 85% case colors with limited handling marks, spotting on the upper tang, and some oxidation on the lever. Wood is very good as refinished with limited handling marks, a couple dings, and a few hairline cracks at the frame. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 1,000 - 1,600
LOT 3046 Marlin Model 97 Lever Action Rifle - Serial no. A831, 22 S L LR cal., 24 inch round bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut stock. Marlin manufactured approximately 125,000 Model 1897s (Model ‘97) between 1897 and 1917. It was redesignated the Model 39 in 1922 which is still in production. This rifle features a beaded blade front sight and elevation adjustable rear sight, casehardened takedown receiver, and straight grip stock. CONDITION: Very fine, retaining 97% plus original blue finish and 90% plus original case colors with scattered light handling marks, a small spot of oxidation on the left side of the frame and some spotting above the hammer. Wood is also very fine with slightly faded/dried out finish a few small dings overall. Mechanically excellent.
