Fine London Agency Cased Colt
Etched Panel New Line .41 Revolver
with Very Scarce Pall Mall London
Address - Serial no. 6451, 41 CF cal., 2
1/4 inch round bbl., blue/casehardened
finish, rosewood grips. Also known as
“Big Colt” from advertising during its
era, this revolver was manufactured
in 1876. The top of the barrel has very
scarce the two-line Colt Pall Mall London address. The left
side of the barrel is marked in an etched panel “COLT NEW
41.”There are London proof marks on the underside of the
barrel and each cylinder flute. The casehardened frame is
stamped “C,” indicating centerfire, on the left side. Includes an oak presentation case
with Colt London Agency interior label, cleaning rod, key, and four.41 CF cartridges.
The brass lid inscription inlay reads, “AUG. FRED./THISTLETHWAYTE.” One possibility
is Augustus Frederick Thistlethwayte (c. 1830-1887) who was born in Hampshire,
England and officially died from an accidental pistol shot, although many believed
it was suicide.
CONDITION: Fine. The barrel and cylinder retain 75% original blue finish. The frame retains 50% vivid casehardened colors with the back strap mostly silvered out and light spotting at the top of the left grip. The grips are very fine with a few scattered blemishes and a tiny chip in the left toe. Mechanically excellent. The case is fine with minor handling/storage marks and clear Colt London label. A London agency cased Colt etched panel New Line .41 Revolver with scarce and highly sought after Colt London address missing from even the most advanced collections.

London Agency Cased Early Production Colt Open Top Pocket Spur Trigger Revolver with Ejector
- Serial no. 2447, 22 RF cal., 2 7/8 inch round bbl.,
nickel finish, walnut grips. Manufactured in 1871 with standard features. The top of the barrel has the two-line address flanked by Maltese crosses, British proofs on the barrel and cylinder, and matching numbers on the barrel, butt, and inked inside each grip panel. The left side of the frame has the faint Rampant Colt flanked

Revolver - Serial no. 46867, 22
RF cal., 2 1/4 inch slab sided bbl.,
nickel finish, rosewood grips.
Manufactured in 1877 with the
standard two-line address on top of
the barrel, “COLT NEW 22” on the left
in an etched panel, patent date and
“6867” on the bottom, and full serial number on
the butt. The top of the frame on either side of
the sighting channel has been retailer engraved
with “W. WATSON & SONS/308 HIGH HOLBORN.
LONDON”. There are London proofs on the barrel
and cylinder. It has standard features. Includes a leather
wrapped case with the interior of the lining of the lid
retailer marked with the corresponding W. Watson & Sons
address.
CONDITION: Very fine, retains 85% of the original nickel
finish with a small patch thinned to an attractively aged
brass on the left of the frame and some scattered patches
of light flaking, mostly on the cylinder. The grips are excellent with a few scattered light handling marks. Mechanically excellent. The case is very good with some mild handling/storage wear. Estimate: 1,600 - 2,500

Colt Third Model “Thuer” Derringers -A) Colt Third Model “Thuer” Derringer - Serial no. 43941, 41 RF
cal., 2 1/2 inch
round bbl., nickel
finish, walnut grips.
Manufacturing
began in 1870. This
pair are both of
the Second Type,
featuring the sloped
hammers. Both have the standard italic Colt marking
on top of the barrel and small British proofs on the
bottom, with the serial numbers marked on the left
side of the grip frames. The butt of the “A” pistol has
been marked “90”, and both pistols have been marked
with the Colt London Agency address “14. PALL MALL”
on the right of the frames along with a faint Rampant
Colt on the “B” pistol. They have standard features and
smooth walnut grips. Includes an oak case that hold
both pistols with a Colt London Agency label inside
the lid, cleaning rod, and key.
CONDITION: Very fine, retains 80% of the retailer applied nickel finish with the balance having thinned to either a smooth grey-brown patina or an attractively aged brass. The grips are fine with a couple moderate dings in the right panel and otherwise scattered light handling marks. Mechanically excellent. The case very fine with minimal handing/storage evidence. B) Colt Third Model “Thuer” Derringer - Serial no. 36728, 41 RF cal., 2 1/2 inch round bbl., nickel finish, walnut grips. See “A”. CONDITION: Very fine, retains 95% of the retailer applied nickel finish with some scattered light handling marks and a few very small patches of light surface pitting. the grips are very good with some light handling marks scattered throughout. Mechanically excellent.

             by the letter “C” stamp. Includes an oak case with Colt
London Agency interior label, cleaning rod, and key.
CONDITION: Fine, retains 75% plus of the original
nickel finish with the balance having thinned to mostly
a smooth grey patina and some scattered light surface
pitting. There is a casting flaw crack visible on the top of the barrel protruding the entire length through the barrel address. The grips are also fine with some scattered minor dings and scratches, and retaining most of the varnish. Mechanically excellent. The case is very fine with minimal handling/storage wear.

London Retailer Inscribed London Agency Cased
Colt Third Model Derringer - Serial no. 43870, 41 RF
cal., 2 1/2 inch round bbl., blue/nickel finish, antique ivory
grips. These Third Model Colt “Thuer” derringers were
manufactured from 1870-1912. The top of the barrel has
the standard italic Colt marking, caliber marking on the
left of the frame, and London proofs on the bottom of the
barrel. The matching serial number is on the left of the
grip frame and hand inked inside the right grip. The back
strap is inscribed “F.T.Baker. Gun Manufacturer. London.” It
has standard features and is fitted with a pair of smooth grips. Includes
a leather wrapped case with Colt London agency interior label.
CONDITION: Fine, retains 85% plus of the original nickel finish on the
frame with most of the blue having thinned to a smooth grey patina,
and some light edge wear showing an attractively aged brass. The grips are exceptionally fine with only the
slightest handling marks apart from the butts which hand some light chipping. Mechanically excellent. The case is very good with numerous tears visible inside the lid and some light handling/storage wear.
