  “JT” INSPECTION MARK ON THE WRIST IDENTIFYING IT AS A TYPE II U.S. CONTRACT HENRY RIFLE
        CONDITION: Fine with 30% of the original blue finish fading to smooth, dark, artificial in streaks patina on the barrel and magazine, bright original blue on much of the smaller components, traces of original case colors mixed with dark patina on the hammer and lever, beautiful untouched aged patina on the exceptionally fine original frame and buttplate, tight sideplate joints, scattered minor handling and storage marks, and minimal overall wear.
The stock is fine and has an old coat of protective varnish, attractive grain, and minor dings and scratches. Mechanically excellent. This is an attractive Henry and is particularly desirable as one of the scarce and desirable Type II U.S. contract Henry lever action rifles ordered for the elite 3rd U.S. Veteran Volunteer Infantry.
