Inland Arms Company Model 1919A4 Browning Machine Gun, Class III/NFA Fully Transferable Machine Gun, with Tripod and Accessories - Serial no. 784023, 30 , 22 inch round bbl., parkerized finish, metal
grips. Manufactured using a new-made right sideplate, this full function Browning 1919A4 machine
gun was produced by Inland
Arms of Austin Texas (not to be
confused with the GM Inland
Division or the Inland Arms
currently located in Dayton,
Ohio). Originally developed by
John M. Browning, variants of the 1919 would
be go-to weapons for decades with the United
States armed forces, being a signature weapon of
both World Wars, Korea and Vietnam. Folding blade
front and flip-up ladder rear sights, with military-style
nomenclature on the right sideplate, ventilated barrel heat shield and
a checkered pistol grip. The weapon is mounted in a 1942 dated 1917A1 tripod with integral traverse and elevation hardware. Included with the lot is a pair of loading tools with cases, an extra barrel with cover, a number of loose links and cloth belts, and a pair of hardwood belt carriers. CONDITION: Very fine, with 95% of the parkerized
finish, showing mild handling marks and wear
overall. Some of the components are refurbished
military surplus, with the cover latch, pistol grip
assembly and bottom plate showing cleaned-up pitting.
The tripod is in good order, with mild wear and flaking of the paint. The cases for the loading tools are damaged; otherwise, the accessories are in good order. Mechanically excellent. NOTE: This weapon is a National Firearms Act (NFA), fully transferable Class 3, which is registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, (BATFE)
under the provisions of 18 U.S.C. Chapter 44 and 27 CFR part 478.
