LOT 640
Dardick Model 1500 Autoloading Revolver with Extra .22 Caliber Barrel and Box - NSN, 38 Special cal., 6 inch round bbl., black finish, plastic grips. Manufactured circa 1958-1962, the Dardick 1500 uses a novel combination of a fixed in-grip magazine, an open-sided auto-ejecting three chamber cylinder and a proprietary plastic-cased triangular cartridge dubbed the “tround”. This combination permits
an ammunition capacity inline with an automatic
pistol while retaining the simple reliability of a
revolver. Additionally, the barrel is secured with a
single threaded bolt and can be rapidly detached or
swapped. Includes an unnumbered factory box, two
boxes of “tround” ammunition (one .22 caliber and
one .38 special), and an extra .22 caliber barrel.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 98% plus
original black finish with some scattered light handling marks and crisp grip checkering. Mechanically needs work. Box is very fine.
Estimate: 4,500 - 6,500
LOT 641
Very Rare Two Digit Serial Number “12” Kimball
Arms .30 Caliber Carbine Semi-Automatic Pistol
with Box - Serial no. 12, 30 Carbine cal., 5 inch round
bbl., blue finish, hard rubber grips. One of less than 250
manufactured between 1955 and 1958. The Kimball was
a failed attempt at producing a blowback pistol in .30
Carbine using a series of cut rings in the chamber. In
theory, on ignition the casing would swell to fill these
rings, delaying extraction long enough for pressure to
drop. Of only about 238 manufactured, many were
destroyed during use by the severe recoil, making
examples in this kind of condition even rarer. Blade front and fixed notch rear sights, with the Detroit address on the left side of the chamber, serial number on the right, and finely checkered grips. With correct Kimball box.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% plus original blue finish with limited handling marks, an attractive purple hue on the frame, and crisp grip checkering. Mechanically excellent. Box is fine with storage and handling marks. Provenance: The Bailey Brower, Jr. Collection, author of “Savage Pistols”.
Estimate: 2,000 - 3,000
LOT 642
MBAssociates Mark I Model B Gyrojet Pistol - Serial no.
B5213, 13 mm Rocket cal., 5 inch round bbl., black finish, walnut
grips. A product of the 1960s, the Mark I Gyrojet uses a 13mm solid fuel rocket in
place of a standard cartridge. As the rocket does not need a solid chamber or extractor
equipment, the entire pistol can be greatly simplified and made from lightweight
materials. Adjustable blade front and fixed notch rear sights, front-mounted hammer,
“MARK I/MODEL B” marked on the left side of the barrel rib with serial number marked on
the bottom, and a pair of smooth grips. The changed position of manufacturer and model
markings are commonly seen on the early Model B pistols which were typically engraved
with the original owner’s name before leaving the factory. Includes seven live rounds of
gyrojet rocket ammunition and operating instructions.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% plus original blue finish with limited handling marks and a small spot of protective coating on a small scratch on the left side. Mechanically excellent.
