Antique Winchester Model 1886 Lever Action Carbine in the Rare .50 Express with Factory Letter - Serial no. 118502, 50 express cal., 22 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut
stock. The included copy of the factory letter confirms the original 50 EX barrel and carbine configuration when it was received at the warehouse November 16, 1898 and shipped the following day. No. 42 sporting leaf ladder rear sight graduated to 300 yards. Blued barrel, magazine tube, receiver, bands, and buttplate with casehardened hammer and lever. Nicely figured forend and stock with carbine buttplate. According to research by Jim Paul and Tom Adams, only 24 Model 1886 .50 caliber carbines were produced in total. Fully restored to factory specifications by Turnbull manufacturing, including a new barrel, stock, and forend. CONDITION: Very fine as professionally restored overall. 99% blue and casehardened finish with limited handling evidence. Mechanically excellent.
