Colt New Line .22 Spur Trigger Revolver with Scarce 2 3/4 Inch Barrel and Factory Box - Serial no. 40810, 22 RF cal., 2 3/4 inch slab sided bbl., nickel finish, rosewood grips. Manufactured in 1876, the standard two-line Colt address on top of the rare 2 3/4 inch barrel and patent date on the bottom, both partially faint. The caliber marking “22CAL” is on the left of the frame. The serial number is on the butt and rear face of the cylinder is marked “0810”. It is fitted with smooth rosewood grips. Includes a scarce factory box marked “COLT’S/New Seven Shot Revolver”, a plain modern box labeled to match the gun, and an informational plaque.
CONDITION: Fine, retains 90% plus of the
period replated nickel with some
scattered light flaking, light handling
marks, and some of the markings
slightly softened. The grips are also
fine with some light handling marks
scattered throughout and retaining most
of the varnish. Mechanically excellent.
The box is good with extensive wear and
staining and one short end of the lower half
absent.

Colt New Line .22 Etched Panel Revolver with Scarce Factory Box - Serial no. 24094, 22 RF cal., 2 1/4 inch slab sided bbl., blue/nickel finish, rosewood grips. Manufactured 1876, the top of the barrel marked with the standard two-line Colt address, patent marking on the bottom, and the left of the barrel with the desirable etched panel marked “COLT NEW 22”. The left of the frame has the caliber marking and the serial number is marked on the butt, with “94” on the bottom of the barrel and rear face of the cylinder. It is fitted with a pair of smooth rosewood grips with the full serial number marked inside the right panel faintly in pencil. Includes a scarce factory Colt box marked for “COLT’S/New Seven Shot Revolver”, a plain modern box labeled to the gun, and an informational plaque.
CONDITION: Very fine, retains 70% of the original blue finish with the balance having mostly thinned to a smooth brown patina, and 80% plus of the original nickel finish with some thinning on edges showing an attractively aged brass. The etched panel is crisp. The grips are very good with a few scattered minor dings and retaining most of the varnish. Mechanically excellent. The factory box is very good with a large dark stain on the lid, moderate wear, and a few tears/tape repairs. Provenance: The Don and Carol Wilkerson Collection.

Outstanding Colt Open Top Pocket Spur Trigger Revolver - Serial no. 84120, 22 RF cal., 2 3/8 inch round bbl., nickel finish, walnut grips. Manufactured in 1875, the top of the barrel marked with the standard two-line address flanked by Maltese crosses. The caliber marking “22CAL” is on the left of the frame. The full serial number is marked on the butt, the bottom of the barrel, and in pencil inside each grip. It is fitted with smooth walnut grips with “KM375” (Karl Moldenaur Collection) in white on the butt of the right panel. Includes a plain modern box labeled to match the gun and an informational plaque.
CONDITION: Excellent, retains 98% plus of the original nickel finish with some scattered light handling marks and crisp markings. The grips are also excellent with a minor ding in the left panel and otherwise light handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
