LOT 1366 Excellent World War II Japanese Nagoya Type 2 Paratrooper Bolt Action Rifle - Serial no. 17521, 7.7 mm cal., 26 inch round bbl., blue finish, hardwood stock. The Type 2 is a takedown variant of the Type 99 Arisaka, designed to be easily disassembled for use by Japanese paratroopers for carry during jumps. Features a blade front sight and folding rear sight with anti-aircraft wings, a present mum on the receiver, smooth pistol grip stock with cupped buttplate, partial matching serial number “521” marked on the underside of the bayonet lug, bolt handle, and underside of the barrel lug, and “350” assembly number on various components. LOT 1367 Japanese Nagoya Arsenal Type 97 Bolt Action Sniper Rifle with Scope - Serial no. 4349, 6.5 mm Japanese cal., blue finish. Blade and folding ladder sights. The mum is ground, with proper “9/7/Type” model nomenclature on top of the receiver ring and the Kokura crest and serial number on the left side, properly off-set to clear the scope base. Matching numbers are present on the bolt, with the firing pin and bayonet lug blank. Smooth pistol grip stock with a leather sling and a cupped metal buttplate. Equipped with a 2.5x10 scope which is numbered “891” on the right and “11864” on top with a rubber eyepiece.

CONDITION: Very fine, with 85% plus original blue finish, showing a brown patina on the bolt handle and where the mum was ground off, minor spotting, and some light handling marks overall. The stock is fine, with a number of deep cuts and scuffs. The scope is in good condition, with the reticle a bit fuzzy but still clear and minor spotting on the otherwise clear glass.
