Exceptional World War II U.S. Winchester M1 Garand Semi-Automatic
Rifle with Bayonet - Serial no. 1341326, 30-06 Springfield cal., 24 inch round
bbl., parkerized/Du-Lite finish, walnut stock. This is an outstanding World War II Winchester
manufactured M1 Garand rifle manufactured in June of 1943. This rifle is absolutely all original and appears to have not been issued. It has all of
its original Winchester parts with the same correct late production matching factory green parkerized finish. The right of the receiver is stamped with drawing number “D28291-
2”, and the barrel is correctly marked on the right side with the Winchester circled “WP” proof followed by a single punch dot proof mark and “J 23”. The very outer ring of the breech is parkerized,
and the inner area is in the white, correctly, as Winchester parkerized their barrels while affixed to the receiver. The barrel is fitted with the original late Winchester pattern, wide-base gas cylinder with the
round top gas cylinder lock, both correctly with their Du-Lite black oxide finish (blue in color) with a single slot gas plug. “D28287-1 W.R.A.” marked bolt, “D35382 W.R.A.” uncut operating rod, “D28290-W.R.A.” trigger
housing, “C46025 W.R.A.” milled trigger guard, “C-46008-1W.R.A.” hammer, “C46015-4W.R.A.” safety, hammer spring guide with wings. It has the correct rear sight with the square end locking bar on the windage knob.
It has a smooth spring clip on the rear handguard with the oval pattern Winchester middle barrel band with the original solid cross pin still in place. Boxed “WRA/GHD” and crossed cannons cartouche stamped on the left of the wrist with a circled “P” proof in the pistol grip area. The buttplate has the correct raised, checkering pattern with the smooth outer edge with the sharp edge on the trap door found on Winchester manufactured buttplates. Includes a “1943” dated M1905 bayonet with 16 inch blade, olive drab green plastic scabbard, and GCA data sheet.
CONDITION: Excellent plus, nearly as issued, retains 99% original Winchester parkerized and Du-Lite finishes with a few very small patches of light pitting on the clip latch. Stock is also excellent with defined edges throughout, a patch of scuffs and a dent on the right of the buttstock, a few light handling marks, and crisp stampings. Mechanically excellent. Included bayonet is very fine. A truly exceptional example of a Winchester M1 Garand rifle that would make an excellent addition to any U.S. Military arms collection!

Grade Walnut Display Case and Accessories - Serial no. 5235855, 30 M1 Carbine cal., 18 inch round bbl., parkerized finish, walnut stock. This is an attractive WWII M1 Carbine manufactured by the General Motors Corp, that is fitted with a exceptional set of slightly fancy “tiger striped” walnut stock and handguard set. It comes with one of the Inland factory hinged walnut display/storage cases that has small brass presentation name plate affixed on top of the lid. On the plate there is a facsimile of a signature: “Joseph C. SXXXXXXX” with the last name being unreadable; however,it is certainly authentic and worth further investigation. During the later stages of WWII the General Motors/Inland Div. designated several M1 carbines to be presented to senior members of the military as well as executives within the General Motors Corp. This carbine has the standard “U.S. CARBINE/M1” markings on the front receiver ring with the correct “INLAND DIV” over serial number on the rear ring, and the barrel is marked “INLAND MFG. DIV/GENERAL MOTORS” 2-44. It still retains the original type two barrel band without a bayonet lug marked “II” on the side. It is also fitted with a blued late production round blued bolt, marked “IO on the side of the lug, the late milled and adjustable rear sight, marked “HI”, a late production M2 operating slide (correct for this time frame) marked “P” in a box inside the bottom of the slide. It is fitted with the correct type three trigger guard with the standing “INLAND” marking facing the rear of the trigger guard. Internally, it is fitted with a smooth push button safety, an “M” marked M1 magazine release, a “HI” marked hammer and blued internal components. It is fitted with an early WWII type, low wood, oval oiler slot M2 walnut stock. It is marked “HI” in the sling slot. It also comes with an early two rivet, low profile “IO” marked walnut handguard. As noted, it is complete with one of the original factory walnut display cases with a small brass name plaque on the lid. It also comes with a 5 shot blued magazine, a 1913 three piece brass cleaning rod, a 1923 Kerr No-Buckle sling and a WWII olive green sling with the correct “U” clips on the ends. CONDITION: Excellent with 99% of the original combination WWII dark green and blued finish on the appropriate parts. The replacement fancy “tiger striped” walnut stock and handguard are both excellent with a nice original oil finish showing only very minor handling marks. Mechanically excellent. The display case is in excellent condition with all the hinges and locks in place and the outside also showing only very minor handling marks or varnish wear.
