Exceptional Factory Engraved Colt Open Top Pocket Spur Trigger Revolver with Box - Serial no. 43572, 22 RF cal., 2 3/8 inch round bbl., nickel finish, antique ivory grips. Manufactured in 1874, the top of the barrel is marked with the standard Colt two-line address flanked by Maltese crosses while the left
of the frame is marked “22 CAL”. The frame, barrel, and cylinder have flourishes of factory floral scroll engraving. The serial number is marked on the butt, with the partial matching serial number “572” on the bottom of the barrel and in pencil on the inside of each of the smooth antique ivory grips. Includes a scarce factory box marked for “COLT’S/SEVEN SHOT PISTOL”, generic modern box labeled for the gun, and an informational plaque.
CONDITION: Excellent, retains 95% of the original nickel finish with a few patches of mild flaking primarily on the front edge of the cylinder and
rear edge of the barrel showing a smooth grey patina, and crisp engraving. The grips are very fine with some scattered light handling marks and few hairline age cracks. Mechanically excellent. The factory box is very good with some moderate wear and flaking, mostly on edges, and some mild fading. Provenance:
