CONDITION: Excellent. 95% of the bright original high polish blue
finish and 97% of the vibrant original case colors remain. There are small areas of flaking on the barrel, cylinder, and frame, and the cylinder
has drag lines and minor edge wear but retains bright original blue finish on the front face and even in the chambers. The muzzle also has strong original
blue finish which is rare. The grip is also excellent and has an extremely crisp
pair of cartouches. The trigger reset is weak, but the revolver is otherwise mechanically excellent. The accessories are all very fine and have minimal light age and storage related wear. Like the revolver, they do not appear to have been issued. Overall, this is a remarkable set and a truly outstanding Starr Model 1858 Army revolver, one of the few double actions available during the Civil War and certainly the most widely used. Provenance: The Guy Gerhard Collection; The Greg Lampe Collection.
Estimate: 10,000 - 18,000
