Factory Engraved Abesser & Merkel Mauser 98 Bolt Action Sporting Rifle - Serial no. 22101, 30-06 Springfield cal., 22 inch solid rib bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Blued part octagon Krupp steel barrel with a beaded blade front sight, a military style leaf rear sight, German proofs, “CAL. 30/06 REMINGTON 180 GRS.” and “SOLE U.S. AGENTS: SLOAN’S SPORTING GOODS Co. INC./-NEW YORK N.Y.” on the left and right
of the barrel respectively at the breech. The military type Mauser 98 action features light border engraving, a Lyman rear peep sight, matted front bridge, and matted bolt knob and safety. The bottom metal shows light engraving with “ABESSER & MERKEL/-SUHL-/GERMANY” engraved on the floorplate. Nicely figured, multi-point checkered pistol grip stock with horn forend tip and grip cap, German silver wedge escutcheon and initial oval which is marked “E.A.E.”, and a checkered steel trapdoor buttplate containing cleaning tools. CONDITION: Very fine, retaining 97% reapplied blue finish with the loss concentrated on the floorplate, some minor spotting on the floorplate, some loss of niter blue, and light handling/use evidence. The stock is very fine and shows a skillfully repaired crack at the wrist and a repaired chip off the tang, with a few minor marks and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. Deep Relief Game Scene Engraved Steyr Mannlicher Model 72 Bolt Action Rifle with Carved Stock and Scope - Serial no. 8862, 7 x 57 Mauser cal., 20 inch round bbl., blue/grey finish, walnut stock. Manufactured by Steyr as an attempt to make a tried and true Mannlicher-Schoenauer
rifle for the modern age. The rifle features ramped beaded blade front and single standing leaf rear sights. The greyed action and bolt handle features oak leaf and acorn engraving with matted backgrounds and a deep relief game scene of a red stag and two does on the floorplate. The action is topped with a Redfield Wideview 3-9x scope. Mounted in a straight grain walnut Mannlicher pistol grip stock carved with oak leaves and acorns as well as a boar on the right side of the butt. blue and grey finishes with crisp engraving and stock carving. Mechanically excellent. Scope is excellent with clear optics and a crisp reticle. Estimate: 2,250 - 3,750

Factory Engraved Franz Sodia Mannlicher Stocked Bolt Action Rifle with Swarovski Scope - Serial no. 24067, 5.6x57 cal., 22 inch solid rib bbl., blue/grey finish, walnut stock. Blued Bohler steel barrel with ramped, beaded blade front sight, fixed rear sight, and front German claw mount on the matted solid rib which is marked “FRANZ SODIA, FERLACH”. The French grey Mauser 98 type action displays full cover Germanic oak leaf engraving, double set triggers, and rear claw mount on the rear bridge. The bottom metal shows the same oak leaf engraving with a running roe buck engraved over “FERLACH” on the floorplate. Nicely figured, multi-point checkered full length Schnabel tip pistol grip stock with ebony tip and grip cap, raised cheek piece, and brown rubber recoil pad. Included is a Swarovski Habicht 6x42mm Nova scope. CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 99% original blue and grey finishes and limited handling evidence. The stock is very fine with a few areas of light scratches and overall sharp checkering. Mechanically excellent. Scope optics are sharp. Estimate: 2,250 - 3,750

Factory Engraved Steyr Mannlicher- Schoenauer Model 1952 Bolt Action Rifle with Scope - Serial no. 11548, 270 Win cal., 24 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Blued barrel with a ramped blade front sight, two position (one standing,
one folding) rear sight, and 1953 dated Austrian proofs. The blued action displays light scroll engraving which extends to many of the small parts, with the make, model, and caliber marked on the front bridge, and a Paul Jaeger marked sidemount holding a Lyman Alaskan scope. The trigger guard and floorplate show more scroll engraving with a Stoeger import mark on the floorplate. Lightly figured pistol grip stock with shadowline cheek piece, sling swivel, and black forend tip, grip cap, and serrated buttplate. CONDITION: Very fine overall, retaining 95% plus original blue finish, some rub wear on the top of the barrel near the muzzle, light handling evidence, some dings and scratches in the wood, and overall sharp checkering on the stock. The scope optics are clear. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 2,000 - 3,250

stock. Blued steel barrel with beaded blade front sight,
two position rear sight, Austrian and Birmingham nitro
proofs, import mark on underside beneath the stock
line, and James Woodward retailer mark on the top. The blued action displays
standard markings with Birmingham proof and a flip-up tang sight. Nicely
figured, multi-point checkered pistol grip stock with sling swivels, hard rubber grip cap, cheek piece, “V.S.W.” in the inscription oval, and serrated steel buttplate. Includes a James Woodward full length case and brass cleaning funnel.
CONDITION: Very fine, retaining 90% plus blue finish with light handling evidence, some thinning, and areas showing tiny spotting. The stock is very good with numerous small scratches, high edge wear, a few pressure marks, and crisp checkering. The case is good. Mechanically excellent.
