Colt Etched Panel New Line .41 Spur Trigger Revolver - Serial no. 1553, 41 CF cal., 2 1/4 inch round bbl., blue/casehardened finish, rosewood grips. Manufactured c. 1876, the standard two-line address on top of the barrel, desirable “COLT NEW 41” etched panel on the left. There are British proofs on the bottom of the barrel and on the cylinder. The left of the frame is marked “41CAL C”. The full serial number is on the left of the grip frame, bottom of the barrel, and hand marked inside the left grip, and the partial serial number “553” is on the rear face of the cylinder. Fitted with smooth rosewood grips.
CONDITION: Very fine, retains 60% of the original blue finish and 80% of the original case colors with the balance having thinned to mostly a smooth grey patina, and the etched panel crisp. The grips are very fine with some scattered light handling marks. The cylinder does not rotate when the hammer is cocked, otherwise mechanically fine.

Inscribed London Proofed Cased Pair of Colt Third Model “Thuer” Derringers -A) Colt Third Model “Thuer” Derringer
- Serial no. 1160, 41 cal., 2 1/2 inch round bbl., nickel finish, hardwood grips. Manufacturing began in 1870. This pair are both of the Second Type, featuring the short high hammers and no bolster on the front bottom of the frame. Both have the standard italic
Colt marking on top of the barrel and small British proofs on the bottom, with the serial numbers marked on the left side of the grip frames as well as on the inside of the grip panels on both. There are both inscribed “S.M.S.Br.G.C.S.I.J.” on the back straps, the meaning of which is unknown. Both of the pistols are also stamped with a number on the bottom of the frame, “3” and “4”, on the “A” and “B” gun respectively. They are both fitted with smooth hardwood grips. Includes an oak presentation case fitted for both derringers with
a Colt London Agency label on the interior of the lid, key, and a cleaning rod.
CONDITION: Excellent, retains 95% plus of the original nickel finish with some minor edge wear, a few scattered patches of light surface pitting, and crisp inscription. The grips are also excellent with a few scattered minor handling marks. Mechanically excellent. The case is fine with some mild handling/storage wear. B) Colt Third Model “Thuer” Derringer - Serial no. 1589, 41 RF cal., 2 1/2 inch round bbl., nickel finish, hardwood grips. See “A”.
CONDITION: Excellent, retains 90% plus of the original nickel finish with a few scattered patches having thinned to a smooth grey patina or attractively aged brass, and the inscription crisp. The
grips are also excellent with a few scattered light handling marks. Mechanically excellent.

Very Fine Colt Third Model Derringer with Desirable “Pipe” Style Case - Serial no. 22173, 41 RF cal., 2 3/8 inch round bbl., blue/silver finish, hardwood grips. These derringers were introduced in 1870, manufactured until 1912, and totaled around 48,000 produced. The top of the barrel has a rounded blade front sight and “COLT” in large italic letters and the bottom of the barrel has small British proofs. The serial number is on the left of the grip frame and hand marked in ink inside the right grip panel. The left of the frame is marked with “C” followed by a Rampant Colt. Includes a leather wrapped “pipe” style case. CONDITION: Very fine, retains 75% plus of the
original blue finish and 60% plus of the original
silver finish with the balance having thinned to
either a smooth grey patina or attractively aged
brass. The grips are also very fine with some
scattered light handling marks. Mechanically
excellent. The case is fine with some mild wear.

Cased British Williams & Powell Retailer Inscribed Colt Third Model “Thuer” Derringer - Serial no. 22513, 41 RF cal., 2 inch round bbl., blue/silver finish, hardwood grips. These derringers were introduced in 1870, manufactured until 1912, and totaled around 48,000 produced. The top of the barrel has a rounded blade front sight and “COLT” in large italic letters and the bottom of the barrel has small British proofs. The upper left of the barrel is retailer inscribed with “WILLIAMS & POWELL, LIVERPOOL”. It is fitted with a pair of smooth hardwood grips, the right faintly hand numbered to the gun on the inside. Includes a leather wrapped case and a cleaning rod. CONDITION: Fine, retains 30% plus of the original blue finish and 20% of the attractively aged silver plating with the balance having thinned to either a smooth grey or attractively aged brass and a few scattered patches of light pitting. The grips are very good with a few scattered minor handling marks. Mechanically excellent. The case is fine with mild wear.
