F.T. Baker London Retailer Inscribed Colt Etched Panel New Line .41 Spur Trigger Revolver - Serial no. 10495, 41 CF cal., 2 1/4 inch round bbl., nickel finish, hardwood grips. Manufactured in 1879. The top of the barrel has the two-line Colt Hartford address, the
left side of the barrel has the desirable etched panel marked “COLT NEW 41”, and the bottom has the matching serial number, patent date, and British proofs. The right side of the barrel has the retailer inscription “F.T.BAKER./GUN MANUFACTURER./LONDON.” There are London proof marks on each cylinder flute. The serial number is marked on the left side of the grip frame and the left side of the frame is marked “41CAL C” for centerfire. It is fitted with a pair of smooth grips.
CONDITION: Very fine, retains 80% plus of the original nickel finish with some scattered speckling of light flaking and a crisp etched panel and inscription. The grips are also very fine with a few scattered very light handling marks. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 1,200 - 1,800

London Proofed Pair of Colt Third Model “Thuer” Derringers with Case Marked to Lt. Col. Bridges -A) Colt Third Model “Thuer” Derringer - Serial no. 38467, 41 RF cal., 2 1/2 inch round bbl., nickel finish, antique ivory grips. Manufacturing began in 1870. This pair are both of the Second Type, featuring the short high hammers and no bolster on the front lower frame. Both have the standard italic Colt marking on top of the barrel and small British proofs on the bottom, with the serial numbers marked on the left side of the grip frames. They are both marked “41 CAL.” on the left of the frames and fitted with a pair of smooth antique ivory grips. They are housed in an included leather wrapped case that is faintly marked “L. COL. BRIDGES.” on the lid and has a detached reproduction E.M. Reilly & Co. label inside along with an oiler. CONDITION: Very fine, retains 85% plus of the original nickel finish with the balance having thinned to either a smooth grey patina or an attractively aged brass. The grips are very fine with a few scattered light handling marks. Mechanically excellent. The case is fine with mild wear. B) Colt Third Model “Thuer” Derringer - Serial no. 41629, 41 RF cal., 2 1/2 inch round bbl., nickel finish, antique ivory grips. See “A”. CONDITION: Excellent, retains 90% plus of the original nickel finish with some scattered light flaking/handling marks revealing a smooth grey patina or attractively aged brass. The grips are excellent with only the slightest handling marks. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 1,800 - 2,750

Desirable Colt London Agency Cased Silver Plated Colt Third Model “Thuer” Derringer - Serial no. 8918, 41 RF cal., 2 1/2 inch round bbl., blue/silver finish, hardwood grips. These Third Model Colt Derringers were introduced in 1870. The top of the barrel has a rounded blade front sight and “COLT” in large italic letters and the bottom of the barrel has small British proofs. The caliber marking is on the left of the frame. The matching serial number is faintly marked inside each grip. Includes
a leather wrapped case with Colt London agency marking on the interior of the lid, two .41 RF cartridges, and a cleaning rod. CONDITION: Excellent, retains 95% plus of the original blue and 98% original silver finishes with the balance having thinned on a few edges to mostly a smooth grey patina or attractively aged brass. The grips are very fine with some scattered light handling marks. Mechanically excellent. The case is fine with some mild wear.
