Scarce Springfield M1A Select Fire Battle Rifle, Class III/NFA Fully Transferable Machine Gun with Box - Serial no. 038696, 7.62 mm cal., 22 inch round bbl., matte gray finish, walnut stock. While primarily known as a semi-automatic only variant of the famous M14 military rifle, Springfield Armory is known to have made a limited number of M1A rifles compatible with the selective fire hardware of the M14; very little separates this rifle from the original military battle rifle save the receiver markings. rear sights, with “WCE” elevation and “WRIGHT” windage drums. The receiver is bedded into the stock, with the proper “A” marked selector switch and transfer bar on the right side. Unmarked hardwood stock, rubber buttplate and a flip-up shoulder rest. and green canvas sling. A hand- marked matching Springfield box (noted as being an “M1A-E2” model with “Select Fire” note) is included. CONDITION: Excellent, with 97% plus original gray finish, showing light handling and cycling marks. The stock is in equal condition. Mechanically excellent. NOTE: This weapon is a National Firearms Act (NFA), fully transferable Class 3, which is registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, (BATFE) under the provisions of 18 U.S.C. Harrington & Richardson Model 50 Reising Submachine Gun, Class III/NFA C&R Fully Transferable
Machine Gun - Serial no. 7124, 45 ACP cal., 11 inch fluted bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. A closed-bolt blowback-operated submachine gun, the Reising Model 50 saw action
with the U.S. Marines in the Pacific as a substitute for the M1 Thompson, though they found their best success as defensive weapons for war-essential industries and as patrol
carbines for American police forces. Blade front and elevation adjustable peep rear sights, with a flash hider/muzzle brake, cooling fins on the barrel, three-line Worcester address near the ejection port, and three-position selector/safety on the right side. Smooth
pistol grip stock with a cocking lever on the underside and a lightly ribbed buttplate.
The buttplate is marked “NPD,” likely for a police department. A magazine loading tool is included. Included with the SMG are four extra magazines (three single-stack and one double-stack) and a Korean-marked green
canvas sling.
CONDITION: Fine, with 60% of the
faded original blue finish, showing areas of brown patina, mild edge
wear, and light handling marks. The stock is very good, with a crack near
the buttplate, along with mild scuffs and dents. Mechanically excellent. NOTE: This
weapon is a National Firearms Act (NFA), fully transferable Class 3, which is registered with the
Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, (BATFE) that is classified as a “Curios or Relic” as defined in 27 CFR, 478.11. These weapons are still subject to the provisions of 18 U.S.C. Chapter 44 and 27 CFR part 478.
