U.S. Auto-Ordnance M1A1 Thompson Submachine Gun, Class III/NFA
C&R Fully Transferable Machine Gun, with Accessories - Serial no. 303461,
45 ACP cal., 10 1/2 inch round bbl., matte gray parkerized finish, walnut stock.
The final wartime revision of the Thompson Submachine Gun, the M1A1 was on paper made obsolete by the M3/M3A1 but would continue to serve as late as the Vietnam War. Blade front and fixed peep rear sights, with a horizontal handguard, and an “S” marked machined receiver with multiple military inspector marks (FJA, GEG). The replacement trigger housing is numbered “149490”, with dual control switches, a fixed buttstock, and a grooved pistol grip. The internals are proper M1A1 configuration, with a solid bolt, fixed firing pin, and no provision for the Blish lock or an oiler. Included with the lot are forty-three (43) extra stick magazines
and a manual.

CONDITION: Very fine, with 90% plus arsenal refurbished matte gray parkerized finish, showing some light scratching and handling marks overall. The wood is also very fine, with some light scratches and scuffs. Mechanically excellent. NOTE: This weapon is a National Firearms Act (NFA), fully transferable Class 3, which is registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, (BATFE) that is classified as a “Curios or Relic” as defined in 27 CFR, 478.11. These weapons are still subject to the provisions of 18 U.S.C. Chapter 44 and 27 CFR part 478.

Three Thompson Type “L” 50-Round Drums, Two Canvas Cases, and One Box - All three are Auto-Ordnance Type “L” drums with blued bodies, blued interiors and blued rotors, and “U” marks on the front and back. The cases are tan canvas with wide belt loops, one unmarked, one with the Mills “bullet” logo inside the flap. A plain drum magazine box is also included.
CONDITION: All drums are very fine to excellent, with minor handling marks and scuffing visible on the drums. Not function tested, but appear to be functional. The Mills case shows some tears and stains, and the unmarked case has a torn out snap. The box is very good.
