Factory Engraved Holland & Holland Sidelock Double Rifle in .375 Nitro Express - Serial no. 17732, 375 cal., 26 inch solid rib bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut stock. Blued steel barrels with a ramped low blade front sight, three position (one standing, two folding)
rear sight on the matted rear quarter rib, “HOLLAND & HOLLAND 98 NEW BOND STREET
LONDON.” and “WINNERS OF ALL THE ‘FIELD TRIALS’ LONDON.” on the right and left
barrel respectively, and London nitro proofs for a 270 grain bullet over 40 grains of Cordite on the flats. The casehardened sidelock action shows light border
engraving and “HOLLAND & HOLLAND” signed on either lockplate. The rifle features bushed firing pins, gold centerlined cocking indicators, double triggers, and a tang mounted automatic safety switch with gold inlaid “SAFE”. Beautifully figured, multi-point checkered splinter forend with lightly engraved fittings and pistol grip stock with casehardened trapdoor grip cap, shadowline cheekpiece, blank inscription oval, and red rubber recoil pad. CONDITION: Very fine as professionally refurbished, retaining 98% blue and casehardened finishes with light handling evidence, a patch of lost finish on the left barrel, some oxidation in
the rear sight leaves, slightly loose grip cap, and sharp recut checkering on the stock. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 12,000 - 18,000

Factory Engraved W. J. Jeffery & Co. Boxlock Ejector Double Rifle
with Case - Serial no. 12512, 450-400 3” cal., 24 inch solid rib bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Blued steel barrels with a ramped beaded blade front sight, four leaf (one standing, three folding) rear sight on the raised rear quarter rib, standard London nitro proofs for a 400 grain bullet over 55 grains of cordite, and chambers with ejectors. The barrels are marked “W. J. Jeffery & Co.” and “13. KING STREET. St. JAMES’S. LONDON.” on the left and right respectively. The blued boxlock action displays extensive scroll engraving surrounding “W. J. Jeffery & Co.” banners on either side with scroll continuing onto the triggerguard and both tangs. The rifle features bushed firing pins, double triggers, and a tang mounted manual safety with gold inlaid “SAFE”. Nicely figured, multi-point checkered splinter forend with engraved fittings, including the rotary lever latch, and pistol grip stock with teardrop flats, engraved blue grip cap, blank inscription oval, and leather wrapped recoil pad. Includes a leather bound takedown case. Length of pull 14 1/4 inches (cast-off ). Weight 10 lbs. 2 oz. CONDITION: Very fine as professional refurbished, retaining 97% plus blue finish with light handling evidence and some softening of the markings and engraving. The wood is also very fine with a few minor chips on both sides of the lower stock head, some wear to the leather pad, and sharp recut checkering. The case is very good with some mild wear.
