Factory L. Cortis Signed Master Engraved Gold Inlaid and Lilly Cortis Signed Belgian Browning Superposed Centennial Edition Two Barrel Set Express Rifle and Shotgun with Box - Serial no. 1878C-182, 20/30-06 gauge, 26 1/2 inch vent rib bbl., blue/ coin finish, walnut stock. Introduced in 1978 to commemorate 100 years of the Browning Company. The 20 gauge shotgun barrels are 26 1/2 inches with 3 inch chambers, ejectors, matching serial number, independent forearm, and full/modified chokes. The 30-06 caliber rifle barrels are 24 inches with matching serial number, independent forearm, and ramped beaded blade front and flip up rear notch sights. Coin gray receiver with near full coverage fine scroll engraving with a gold inlaid quail on the right and gold inlaid bull elk on the left. The left side is signed “L. CORTIS” in the lower left hand corner. Checkered forearm and straight grip stock with a Browning buttplate. Stock measurements are: drop at comb 1 3/8 inches; drop at heel 2 inches; length of pull 14 inches. With original box and shipping box. CONDITION: Very fine overall. The shotgun barrels retain 97% original blue finish with some light spotting on the muzzles, and crisp forearm checkering. The rifle barrels retain 97% original blue finish with some light spotting on the muzzles, stress cracks at the rear edge of both sides of the forearm and crisp checkering. There is some light spotting on the underside of the receiver. The engraving is crisp. The stock is excellent with limited handling marks and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. Box is good with some separated corners. Estimate: 6,500 - 8,500

Purgal. The left side of the receiver is engraved with a mule deer scene with “Mule Deer” at the top and “ONE OF SIX HUNDRED” on a banner at the bottom. “R. DEWIL” is signed above the banner for FN engraver Rene
Dewil. Each side also includes a gold inlaid bust of the appropriate deer. Mounted in a wonderfully figured semi-beavertail walnut forend and pistol grip stock with string of pearls and scroll borders to the multi-point checkering, and Browning buttplate. CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% plus original blue and French grey finish with limited handling marks, and crisp engraving and stock checkering. Mechanically excellent. Factory Engraved J. Baerten Signed Belgian Browning Grade IV BAR Semi-Automatic Rifle with Scope - Serial no. 437RR02639, 308 Win cal., 22 inch round bbl., blue/French grey finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1977. The barrel lacks provisions for sights and has standard maker and caliber markings. The French grey
receiver shows fine interwoven scroll engraving on the sides, trigger guard
and floor plate, and sides have game scenes of two prong horn antelope and two deer on the right and left
respectively. The work is signed on the lower rear left side “J. BAERTEN” for FN Master Engraver Jose Baerten. A Nikon 3-9x40 scope is mounted atop the receiver. The receiver is mounted in a nicely figured checkered stock with
carved scroll accents and string of pearl borders around the checkered panels, and a plastic Browning buttplate. Includes a leather sling. CONDITION: Excellent retaining 99% plus original blue and French grey finishes with limited handling marks, and crisp engraving. The stock is fine with dings and scratches and overall crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. Scope is excellent with clear optics and a crisp reticle. Estimate: 2,500 - 4,250
