Smith & Wesson Model 76 Submachine Gun, Class III/NFA Fully Transferable Machine Gun - Serial no. U1780, 9 mm cal., 8 inch round bbl., matte gray finish, metal stock. Originally developed in
the late 1960s, the S&W Model 76 was designed to fill the niche of a lightweight and compact 9mm SMG after the American special forces community was cut off from sources of the Carl Gustaf M45 “Swedish K” SMG; the Swedish government, neutral in the Vietnam War, was uncomfortable with their exports being used in the conflict. Fixed blade and peep sights on the tubular receiver, with an ambidextrous “FULL”/”SEMI”/”SAFE” selector switch, perforated heat shield, checkered pistol grip and a side folding buttstock with
rubberized covering.
CONDITION: Excellent, with 95% plus original matte gray phosphate finish, showing mild handling marks
with the pistol grip showing minor scratches. Mechanically needs work; functions fine on safe and semi, action binds up or runs in semi-automatic when put to full auto. NOTE: This weapon is a National Firearms Act (NFA), fully transferable Class 3, which is registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, (BATFE) under the provisions of 18 U.S.C. Chapter 44 and 27 CFR part 478.

Fully Transferable Machine Gun - Serial no. S4974, 45 cal.,
10 1/2 inch fluted bbl., parkerized finish, walnut stock. A closed-
bolt blowback-operated submachine gun, the Reising Model 50 saw
action with the U.S. Marines in the Pacific as a substitute for the M1 Thompson, though they found their
best success as defensive weapons for war-essential industries and as patrol carbines for American police forces. Blade front and elevation adjustable peep rear sights, with a flash hider/muzzle brake, cooling fins
on the barrel, three-line Worcester address near the ejector port, and three-position selector/safety on the right side. Smooth pistol grip stock with a cocking lever on the underside, a canvas sling, and a ribbed plastic buttplate with H&H imprint. Two magazines total (one unmarked extended, one H&R marked in standard length) are included, along with three books: H&R Reising Submachine Gun Manual (Desert Publications 1993), The Reising Submachine Gun Story by Iannamico, and Reising
Do Everything Manual by Pugliese.
CONDITION: Very fine, with 95% of the refurbished matte gray parkerized finish, showing
some light pitting under the finish, handling marks and edge wear. One of the ribs is broken out and absent from the muzzle device, and the magazine well and trigger guard show mild pitting. The otherwise fine stock has some splitting around the front sling swivel and between the magazine well and trigger and internal repairs in the latter area. Mechanically fine. NOTE: This weapon is a National Firearms Act (NFA), fully transferable Class 3, which is registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, (BATFE) that is classified as a “Curios or Relic” as defined in 27 CFR, 478.11.
