Factory Engraved Raick Erlgis Boxlock
Ejector Double Rifle in .470 Nitro Express with Case - Serial no. 2839, 470 NE cal., 26
3/8 inch solid rib bbl., blue/casehardened finish, walnut stock. Blued steel barrels with a
beaded blade front sight, five position (one standing, four folding) rear sight on the matted
rear quarter rib, “RAICK ERLGIS” and “LIEGE . BELGIUM” marked on the right and left respectively, light engraving at
the breeches, and chambers with automatic ejectors. The casehardened bolstered boxlock action displays attractive
classic rose & scroll engraving which extends to the toplever, trigger guard, and both tangs. The rifle features a set of double triggers, bushed firing pins, and a tang mounted manual safety switch with gold inlaid “S”. Lightly figured, multi-point checkered splinter forend with casehardened engraved fittings, including the Anson button release, and pistol grip stock with casehardened and engraved grip cap,
shadowline cheekpiece, and brown leather covered recoil pad. Included is a Beretta canvas and leather takedown case and a pair of snap caps. Length of pull inches. Weight lbs. oz.
CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% original blue and casehardened finishes with minor handling evidence, some wear to the recoil pad, and sharp checkering on the wood. The case is very fine. Mechanically excellent.

Factory Engraved and Gold Inlaid Raick Freres Boxlock Ejector Double Rifle in .405 Winchester - Serial no. 2120, 405 WCF cal., 26 inch solid rib bbl., blue/ casehardened finish, walnut stock. Blued steel barrels with a ramped beaded blade front sight with flip-up moon bead, five position (one standing, four folding) rear sight with gold inlaid ranges, “RAICK FRERES” and “LIEGE. BELGIUM” in gold on the right and left barrels respectively, “SPECIAL” and “QUALITY” at the left and right breech respectively, and Belgian proofs on the flats. The casehardened boxlock action displays engraving patterned off of Purdey’s bouquet & scroll style and featuring bushed firing pins, double triggers, and a tang mounted manual safety switch with gold inlaid “S”. Beautifully figured, multi-point checkered splinter forend with engraved fittings and pistol grip stock with horn grip cap and red rubber recoil pad. Length of pull 14 3/8 inches. Weight 7 lbs. 2 oz. CONDITION: Very fine, retaining 95% original blue finish, 75% original case colors, areas of scattered minor spotting, minor handling evidence, and sharp checkering on the stock and forend. Two Sealed Tropical Tins of .470
Nitro Express Cartridges - , 470
Nitro Express. The lot includes to sealed
metal boxes containing .470 Nitro Express ammunition,
one by Kynoch with a partial label, the other is unknown and unlabeled. Both appear to contain 10 rounds each.
These sealed tin packages of ammunition were popular in the early 20th century for protecting
it from the tropical environments in which it was mostly used, hence the name Tropical Tin. CONDITION: The Kynoch box is good, the label is mostly absent, the lid shows moderate oxidation, and intact seal. The unknown box is very good with no label, light marks, and intact seals.
