 grooved receiver features a scene of three
hares in a field and the left side has two squirrels on a tree branch. These scenes
are surrounded by floral scroll and border patterns, with flourishes of floral scroll on the
barrel at the muzzle and the breech. It is fitted with blade and elevation adjustable notch sights. It is mounted with a very finely figured, H-pattern checkered forearm and pistol
grip stock with a hard rubber grip cap and smooth steel buttplate. CONDITION: Excellent, retains 99% plus of the original blue finish with only the slightest handling marks and crisp engraving.
The wood is also excellent with only the slightest handling marks and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.

Factory Game Scene Engraved Prototype Dumoulin/Colt Mauser 98 Type Bolt Action Rifle with Documentation - Serial no. 1369, 270 Win cal., 24 inch inch round bbl.,
blue finish, walnut stock. Manufactured by Dumoulin of Herstal, Belgium in 1998 on behalf of Colt, who was looking for a partner in Europe to produce a line of fine rifles and shotguns to be marketed and distributed by Colt. This rifle is a prototype built as an example of the quality of work that Dumoulin planned to put into the project until management changes at Colt forced the project to be abandoned. Blued steel barrel manufactured without sights and marked with standard Belgian proofs and “COLT’S MANUFACTURING COMPANY, INC” on the top. The double square bridge Mauser 98 type action displays highly attractive scroll engraving, matting atop the bridges, and a knurled bolt handle. The bottom metal and triggerguard show the same scroll engraving with the floorplate displaying a big horn ram surrounded by yet more scroll. Beautifully figured, multi-point checkered pistol grip stock with sling studs, ebony grip cap inlaid with a Colt medallion, and red rubber Pachmayr Old English recoil pad. Included is a set of German style claw mount scope rings and a letter from Dumoulin confirming the above information and listing this rifle by serial number, caliber, and finish. CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% original blue finish with limited handling evidence and sharp checkering on the stock. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 5,000 - 8,000

cal., 22 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. This rifle is marked in gold “1 of 1,000” on the left rear of the barrel
and two gold inlaid bands around the muzzle. The rifle features a fine floral scroll engraved receiver with gold inlaid border accents, gold “WINCHESTER/-TRADE MARK-” on the left wall and serial number “UG286” in gold on the right side of the receiver ring.

The barrel is manufactured without sights, the breech end is marked with the Winchester oval proof and the top of the receiver is factory drilled and tapped for scope mounting and signed “Bottega C Giovanelli”. The floor plate, trigger guard and grip cap are engraved with the same floral scroll design, with a big horn ram in the center of the floor plate with gold bordering. Jeweled bolt and follower, with floral scroll engraving on the bolt handle. Mounted with an American black walnut pistol grip stock with fancy bordered checkered forearm and wrist, with Schnabel forend, grip cap, solid rubber Winchester recoil pad and sling swivel studs. CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% plus original blue finish with minimal handling marks and crisp stock checkering and engraving. Mechanically excellent.
