Catco Model 1919 Browning Machine Gun, Class III/NFA Fully Transferable Machine Gun, with Field Mount and Extra Barrels - Serial no. 5126, 7.62 , 24 inch round bbl., matte gray finish, metal grips. A refinement of the Browning Model 1917 water cooled machine gun, the Model 1919 would be a mainstay American automatic weapon for much of the 20th century, serving at home and abroad in a variety of roles. This example was manufactured by Catco with a mix of new-made and military surplus parts. Flip-up blade front and ladder rear sights, with a ventilated heat shield around the barrel, the Catco markings on the right side of the receiver, a checkered pistol grip and a pintle and T&E mechanism set. Included with the lot are a field mount, eleven extra barrels, and a cased belt loading tool.
CONDITION: Excellent, with 90% plus matte gray phosphate finish, showing mild spotting and handling marks overall, as well as some thinning of the finish on the receiver. The barrels and field mount show mild wear and oxidization. Mechanically excellent. NOTE: This weapon is a National Firearms Act (NFA), fully transferable Class 3, which is registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, (BATFE) under the provisions of 18 U.S.C. Chapter 44 and 27 CFR part 478.
