The left side of the slide has the standard Colt National Match markings followed by the Rampant Colt. The serial number is marked on the right of the frame and the left of the trigger guard is marked “VP/Y”. It is fitted with a Patridge blade
front sight, adjustable notch rear sight, adjustable serrated trigger, an extended grip safety, serrated arched mainspring housing, and a serrated skeletonized hammer. Toby originally graduated from the U.S. Army Officer Candidate School at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, became commissioned as a Lieutenant of Field Artillery, was reassigned as Captain of Military Intelligence, and then began a 22-year distinguished career as a U.S. Secret Service Agent from 1959-1981. At 26 years old, he became the youngest agent assigned to the elite team directly protecting The White House. Between 1959-1965 he was assigned
to the personal details of President Dwight D. Eisenhower, President John F. Kennedy, and President Lyndon B. Johnson.
CONDITION: Fine, retains 50% of the original blue finish with the balance showing mostly a smooth grey patina and some scattered light pitting on the left of the slide, typical of a U.S. Secret Service agent sidearm that was regularly carried. The grips are very fine with a few scattered light handling marks and crisp checkering (laser sight untested). Mechanically excellent. Provenance: The Toby Jason Chandler Collection.
