CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 99% original blue and coin finishes with minor handling evidence, a few tiny dings and scratches in the wood, and sharp checkering on the stock and forend. The case is very fine. Mechanically excellent.

Outstanding Consecutive Pair of Venzi Signed and Master Engraved Abbiatico & Salvinelli (FAMARS) 20 Gauge Zeus Double Barrel Shotguns -A) Abbiatico & Salvinelli (FAMARS) Zeus Shotgun - Serial no. 1290, 20 gauge, 28 7/16 inch solid rib bbl., blue/coin finish, walnut stock. Blued steel chopperlump barrels with a single steel bead sight on the smooth solid rib with a gold inlaid “1” and light engraving towards the breech, “Abbiatico & Salvinelli” (founding members of FAMARS) marked on the left barrel, import mark under forend, 2002 dated Italian proofs, and chambers marked 70mm (2 3/4 inches) with automatic ejectors. The coin finished bolstered round body action displays beautifully executed broad leafy scroll engraving over a contrasting matted background surrounding “ABBIATICO
& SALVINELLI” on either side and “ZEUS” on the underside. The engraving continues to the triggerguard, toplever with a gold inlaid “1”, and the tangs, the bottom of which has the serial number in gold. The work is signed “inc. VENZI” to the right side of the triggerplate for Italian Master Engraver Silvano Venzi. The gun features double triggers (front is articulated) and a tang mounted automatic safety with
gold inlaid “SAFE”. Beautifully figured, multi-point checkered forend with engraved fittings matching the action, including the Anson button release with its gold inlaid “1” and straight grip stock with gold inscription oval marked “G/B” and orange rubber recoil pad.
