Attractive Game Scene Engraved Winchester Model 21 Double Barrel
Shotgun with Case - Serial no. 10679, 12 gauge, 30 inch solid rib bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Blued Winchester Proof steel barrels with white front and
steel mid-bead sights on the matted concave solid rib which is marked “CUSTOM BUILT BY WINCHESTER”, 3 inch wedges of scroll engraving at either breech, 2 3/4 inch chambers with automatic ejectors, and chokes marked “FULL”/”FULL”. The blued action displays highly attractive scroll engraving surrounding a pointer flushing a pair
of woodcocks on the left, a pointer stalking a pheasant on the right, and a circular scene depicting a pair of mallards in
flight over water on the underside, there is also a scene showing a pair of in flight pheasants on the trigger guard. The gun features a single selective trigger and a tang mounted manual safety switch. Beautifully figured, fancy checkered beavertail forend with engraved fittings and ebony tip inlay, and straight grip stock with gold inscription oval marked
“ACW” and a checkered bare butt. Included is a wood and leather takedown case with snap caps, oiler, and cleaning tools.
Barrel and stock measurements (R/L): bore diameter nine inches from the breech .733/.732 inches; choke constriction .035/.037 inches; minimum wall
thickness .028/.030 inches; 1 7/16 inch drop at comb; 1 7/8 inch drop at heel; 14 1/2 inch length of pull; weight 7 lbs. 10 oz.
CONDITION: Very fine overall as custom embellished, retaining 99% blue finish with limited handling evidence and sharp checkering on the otherwise very fine stock and forend. The case is excellent. Mechanically excellent.

Highly Desirable Pre-World War II Winchester Model 42 Slide Action Skeet Shotgun Two Barrel Matching Number Set with Case - Serial no. 22960, 410 gauge, 26 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut stock. Manufactured in 1936. Single steel bead sight, “35” date, standard Winchester markings, 3 inch chamber, and skeet choke. The receiver is unadorned aside from the Winchester “WP” proof, the serial number, and “SKEET” marked beneath the serial number. Lightly figured, checkered forend and straight grip stock with Winchester buttplate. Included is an extra matching number 26 inch solid rib barrel with 3 inch chamber and a full choke. Also included is a period Brauer Brothers St. Louis marked leather mutton leg case that fits the entire set. Length of pull 13 7/8 inches.
CONDITION: Very fine, retaining 80% plus original blue finish, light handling evidence, moderate slide retraction marks, a very thin crack on the left side of the wrist, and crisp checkering on the stock and forend. The extra barrel is also very fine with 80% original blue overall. The case is very good. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 6,500 - 9,500
