LOT 3699 Rare and Desirable Norinco Type 81S Semi-Automatic Rifle - Serial no. 86923, 7.62x39 mm cal., 18 inch round bbl., blue finish, metal stock, polymer grips. One of only twenty imported in January of 1989. This extremely rare rifle has the outward appearance of the AK family of rifles while also having aspects of the SKS and Dragunov rifles. This rifle uses a three position adjustable short stroke gas piston to operate the bolt in place of the operating rod of the standard AK platform rifle. The rifle features hooded blade front and adjustable “T” aperture rear sight, composite handguard set, pistol grip and side folding stock insert. The left side of the trunnion is marked “/26\ 81-1” over the serial number. The right side of the receiver is marked with the importer information. Matching numbers appear on the trunnion, bolt carrier, bolt, guide rod, dust cover, and stock. includes a green canvas sling. The Type 81 family of rifles is China’s second generation family of rifles which replaced the Type 56 family of rifles in the 80s. Some Type 81 rifles remain in service today, though most have been replaced with the Type 95 and Type 03 family of rifles. CONDITION: Very fine, retaining 90% original blue finish with an attractive grey patina on the balance, scattered handling marks, and some small patches of minor surface pitting. Some touch-up blue has been applied over a blind pin on the muzzle device. Furniture is very nd chips on the handguard set, as well as some scuffs on the grip and stock insert, and some oxidation on and around the cleaning kit. Mechanically excellent. The Type 81S is one of the rarest Chinese made firearms ever made, and would be right at home in any military arms collection! Estimate: 6,000 - 10,000

Desirable Three Digit Serial Number Pre-Ban Heckler & Koch HK94 Semi-Automatic Carbine - Serial no. 028, 9 mm para cal., 16 inch round bbl., black finish, metal stock. Manufactured in 1983. Hooded post front sight and rotating four-position drum rear sight, an “0/1” trigger group, round checkered forearm, standard grip, and collapsible buttstock. The top of the receiver is marked with the three digit serial number “028”. Includes two extra magazines. CONDITION: Excellent overall, retaining 97% original black finish with limited handling marks, scattered light spotting, and crisp forend checkering. The two extra magazines have scattered surface oxidation. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 4,000 - 7,000

LOT 3702 Desirable Pre-Ban Valmet M62/S Semi-Automatic Rifle - Serial no. 146424, 7.62x39 mm cal., 16 inch round bbl., phosphate finish, hardwood stock. Manufactured in Finland. Fitted with a three prong flash hider with bayonet lug on the bottom prong, hooded blade front and elevation adjustable peep rear sight, flip up front night sight (insert absent), ribbed ventilated handguard and wooden pistol grip and buttstock. The left side of the receiver is marked with the Valmet address, with model, caliber, and importer information on the right. Magazine absent. CONDITION: Very fine overall, retaining 90% original phosphate finish with scattered handling marks, a safety drag line, light scuffing concentrated on the flash hider and dust cover, and dings and scratches on the stock.
