According to "The Book of Colt Firearms", only 600 of the large frame 10 gauge revolving shotguns were produced.
CONDITION: Extremely fine overall. This beautiful shotgun retains 85% plus of the
bright original high polish blue finish and has only minor overall wear from age, handling,
and storage. The forend cap and wedge escutcheons have smooth aged patina. The markings remain crisp. The wood is very fine and has crisp checkering, beautiful figure, minor scratches and dings, and some checks in the figure. Mechanically functions, but the cylinder spins freely. The 10 gauge (.75 caliber) Model 1855 with a production estimated at only 600 is one of about six of the rarest antique Colts, and you will not get another chance at one with this much original blue any time soon if ever! Provenance: The Stagecoach Museum Collection; The Robert Howard Collection; Property of a Gentleman.
Estimate: 20,000 - 30,000
