Leather Holster Rig with Double Row Money Belt and Holster for Colt Model 1877 Lightning Double Action Revolver - This vintage Western holster rig features a money belt with two tiers of cartridge loops for rifle and pistol ammunition. The folded belt is fabricated of soft russet leather and measures an impressive 5 inches in width. It is sewn along the top and both ends. “300/30” is stamped above the tongue. Early 20th century Arizona Rangers were known to wear this type of cartridge belt. The open top/close toe holster is also fabricated of soft russet leather and is designed to carry a Colt Model 1877 Lighting double action revolver with 6 inch barrel. The front of the holster is decorated with light tooled pattern with floral blossoms. The belt and holster lack a maker’s marking. The Model 1877 revolvers were the first Colt double actions and were designed by William Mason, one of the men responsible for the design of the Colt Single Action Army. The push-button cylinder pin release was later adopted for the Colt Single Action Army, and the Model 1877s were known to be popular in the West
