Attractive London Agency Cased Colt Etched Panel
New Line .38 Spur Trigger Revolver - Serial no. 10444,
38 CF cal., 2 1/4 inch round bbl., blue/casehardened finish, rosewood grips. Manufactured 1879 with standard markings, including the “COLT NEW 38” in an etched panel on the left of the barrel, and British proofs on the barrel and cylinder. Matching numbers are present on the left of the grip frame and bottom of the barrel, and “444” on the rear face of the cylinder and faintly inside each grip in pencil. It has standard features and is fitted with a pair of smooth rosewood grips.
Includes an oak presentation case with Colt London Agency interior label, cleaning rod, key, and ten
.38 CF cartridges.
CONDITION: Very fine, retains
90% original blue and 85% casehardened finishes with the
balance having thinned to a smooth grey patina. The grips are very good with some mild wear and a few scattered minor
handling marks. Mechanically excellent. The case is very fine with some light handling/storage wear. Provenance: The George S. Lewis Jr. Collection.

Excellent Early Production Colt
New Line .32 Etched Panel Spur Trigger Revolver with Factory Box
- Serial no. 1109, 32 RF cal., 2 1/4 inch round bbl., blue/casehardened finish, rosewood grips. Manufactured in 1873, the standard Colt two-line address on top of the barrel and the serial number marked on the left, which is rarely seen. The left side of the frame is marked “32CAL”. The full serial number is on
the left side of the grip frame, left side of the barrel, and hand marked inside each grip. It is fitted with a pair of smooth rosewood grips. Includes a
rare, correct factory box and cleaning rod.
CONDITION: Excellent, retains 85% plus bright original high polish blue finish and 97% plus of the vibrant original case colors with the balance having thinned to mostly a smooth brown patina. The grips are also excellent with a few scattered light handling marks and retaining almost all of the varnish. Mechanically excellent. The otherwise fine box exhibits moderate wear, some tears, and a few small pieces absent. Provenance: The George S. Lewis Jr. Collection.

Rare Colt Advertising Broadside for
Colt New Line and Single Action Army Revolvers - This is a late 19th century Colt advertising broadside, featuring Colt’s “New Line” of handguns, which were introduced after the transition from percussion firearms, and the need to replace percussion conversion guns was realized. The advertisement is double sided and
features prominently at the top on
one side, the introduction of the Colt
“New Model Army Metallic Cartridge Revolving Pistol”, which would become known as the legendary Colt Single Action Army. At the bottom of the page is Colt’s New Line .22 revolver, while the opposite side features the other four calibers of the Colt New Line revolvers, which they advertise as “Colt’s New Breech Loaders”.
CONDITION: Very fine, retains distinct imagery and text with some scattered minor staining and a few very small edge tears and minor fold creases. This rare Colt broadside would be an excellent addition to a Colt New Line or Single Action Army Collection!

Colt New Line .30 Etched Panel Spur Trigger Revolver
with Rare 1 3/4 Inch Barrel and Special Factory Grips as Pictured
in “The William M. Locke Collection” by Sellers - Serial no. 2227, 30 RF cal.,
1 3/4 inch round bbl., blue/casehardened finish, hard rubber grips. Manufactured in
1875, the standard Colt two-line address on top of the desirable 1 3/4 inch barrel and the desirable
“COLT NEW 30” etched panel on the left. The full serial number is on the butt, bottom of the barrel, and rear face of
the cylinder. It is fitted with a rarely seen pair of checkered hard rubber grips that have molded flourishes of floral scroll at the
bottom and Rampant Colts at the top. These grips were not factory fitted, but are of factory origins. This revolver is pictured on p. 192 of “The William M. Locke Collection” by Sellers, where it is mentioned that this short barrel length is very scarce (pictured with wood grips). CONDITION: Very fine, retains 80% plus original blue finish and 60% plus vibrant original case colors with the balance having thinned
to mostly a smooth grey patina. The grips are also very fine with a few scattered light handling marks and crisp checkering/molding. Mechanically excellent.
