Scarce Fabrique Nationale “G Series” FAL Paratrooper Configuration Semi-Automatic Rifle - Serial no. G13785, 308 cal., 17 inch round bbl.,
black finish, metal stock, plastic
grips. Manufactured in Belgium
and imported in the early 60s, the “G Series” FAL rifles had a complicated relationship with the BATFE. Originally cleared for import as semi-automatic rifles, further review of the design led the ATF to conclude that the item was too easy to convert to full-auto; the G-Series FALs were essentially the same firearm as FN’s military contract battle rifles, with only some minor part swapping dividing the two. The rifles that had already cleared customs were given a pass, resulting in a limited number of “original” FN FALs available on the American market. FN made adjustments to the remainder of G-Series production to address the ATF’s complaints, as seen with this example.
Post front and two leaf peep rear sights, paratrooper length barrel and flash hider, and an adjustable gas port with attached grenade sight. The upper receiver bears the one line Herstal address and “308 MATCH” with the Browning Arms address on the magazine well. Matching serial numbers are present on the upper receiver, barrel, pistol grip (sans g prefix), bolt carrier and bolt. Original style “S” marking is present on the trigger group, with a proper two-position selector switch. Fitted with a ventilated triangular forearm, plastic pistol grip, and folding paratrooper stock. CONDITION: Very fine, retaining 90% original black finish with scattered handling marks, some wear around the ejection port, and wear from opening and closing the stock. Furniture set is very good with scattered scuffs, dings, and scratches. Grenade sight needs adjustment. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 8,500 - 12,000

Excellent and
Desirable First Year Production Four Digit Serial
Number Curio & Relic Colt AR-15 SP1 Semi-Automatic Rifle -
Serial no. SP01370, 223 Rem cal., 20 inch round bbl., parkerized finish, synthetic
stock. Manufactured in 1964, the first year of production as a civilian equivalent to the M16 being fielded in
the jungles of Vietnam. The SP-1 was designed by Colt after seeing the desire of shooters and hunters alike for a semi-automatic rifle chambered in the popular .223 Remington cartridge. The rifle’s light weight made it a popular choice for hunters across the nation. The rifle has all of the features of the early SP1 rifles including a three prong flash hider on the pencil profile barrel, which is simply marked “12” on the underside, ventilated triangular forearm, A1 length buttstock, and “slab sided” receiver set with integral carry handle. The bolt carrier is properly smooth sided, with a flat end to the retention pin, and a chrome plated bolt marked “P”.
A two-piece buffer is also present. The left side of the lower receiver is marked with the standard Colt markings as well as the three digit serial number. The foundations laid by the SP-1 are seen in the AR-15 platform of rifles, which has become the most popular rifle in the United States, while also having a lineage that stretches from the jungles of the Vietnam War to the deserts of the Global War on Terror. Includes a black web sling.
CONDITION: Excellent, retaining 97% plus original phosphate finish with a few minor scuffs and scratches and a small ding on the carry handle. Furniture is also excellent with only a few minor scuffs. Mechanically excellent. This is your opportunity to get your hands on a rare four digit Colt SP1 Rifle!
