CONDITION: Extremely fine. The barrel retains 95% original blue finish showing loss at the muzzle and some minor thinning. The remaining metal surfaces retain 75% original vivid case colors, otherwise faded to gray. The wood is excellent showing some minor pressure dents
and scratches, a repaired crack by the tang, and most of the finish remaining. Action needs work as hammer is frozen. The case is fine with faded and slightly worn original lining and overall minor handling/storage marks. This is a rare and desirable finely engraved cased Sharps Model 1853 Sporting Rifle documented by renowned Sharps expert Frank Sellers.
