Attractive Gold Plated
Savage Model 1907 Semi-Automatic Pistol
with Pearl Grips - Serial no. 3511B, 380 ACP cal., 4 1/4
inch round bbl., gold finish, pearl grips. Manufactured
in 1913-1914, the top of the slide is marked with the
standard two-line address, patent, and caliber markings,
with the “9MM” marking absent. It is fitted with blade front and notch
rear sights, and a pair of smooth pearl grips. The consignor notes that this pistol was upgraded to its current configuration in 2011 by J.B. Wood and Tom Lent. Includes a custom hardwood presentation case.
CONDITION: Very fine as professionally upgraded to its current
configuration, retains 99% of the gold plated finish with a few scattered
light handling marks and a few scattered patches of very light surface
pitting visible beneath the
finish. The grips are also
very fine with only the
slightest handling marks.
Mechanically excellent. The case is very fine with a few
scattered light handling/storage marks.

Savage Model 1907 Semi-Automatic Pistol with Box
and Factory
Letter - Serial no. 74011, 32 ACP cal., 3 3/4 inch round bbl., blue finish, hard rubber grips. Manufactured
in 1912, the top
of the slide is
marked with the
two-line address,
patent date, and
caliber marking.
The serial number is marked on the front
edge of the frame along with the rare
inspector’s mark “(R)”. It has standard features
including checkered hard rubber grips with
Savage logos. The included factory letter lists
shipment of the pistol to Henkle, Joyce Hardware Co. in Lincoln, Nebraska on 9 October 1912, and states that the number “3305” is also included in the entry, the meaning of which is unknown. Two other notes are included that list the pistol by serial number, one stating that the pistol and box were pictured in an article by Richard Baker in the July 1971 issue of “Guns”. The other note indicates that the pistol was originally purchased by C.A. Hussy, passed to his brother-in-law E.A. Ross, and was sold to Richard Baker by Dayle E. Ross in May of 1967. Includes a correctly labeled factory box, extra magazine, and two oil bottles.
CONDITION: Excellent, retains 95% plus of the original blue finish with the balance having thinned to a smooth grey patina and a couple scattered patches of very light surface pitting The grips are very fine with a few scattered light handling marks and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The box is very good with some mild wear and one short end flap of the lid absent.

Savage Model 1907 Semi-Automatic Pistol with Factory Letter as Pictured in “Savage Pistols” by Bailey Brower Jr. - Serial no. 52, 32 ACP cal., 3 3/4 inch round bbl., blue finish, metal grips.
Manufactured in 1908, this early production Model 1907 pistol is listed in the included factory letter as having shipped to Marshall Wells, a sporting goods company in Minnesota and Canada, on 20 October, 1908. The top of the slide is marked with the two-line address
and patent dates, as well as the caliber marking. It has standard features including checkered metal grips with Savage logos. This specific pistol is pictured on p. 33 of “Savage Pistols” by Bailey Brower
r., where it is incorrectly listed as having been owned by William Condit, the financier of Elbert Searles’ design work. It has since been confirmed by factory letter that serial number “69” Model 1907 was the pistol shipped to Condit.
CONDITION: Very good, retains 20% of the original blue finish with the balance having thinned to a smooth grey patina and a few scattered patches of light pitting. The grips are also very good retaining
traces of the blue finish, some scattered light pitting, and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.

Automatic Pistols -A) Savage Model
1915 Pistol as Pictured in “Savage
Pistols” by Bailey Brower Jr. - Serial no.
11498B, 380 ACP cal., 4 1/4 inch round bbl., blue finish, hard rubber grips. Manufactured from only 1915 to 1917, the Model 1915 is the most rare of the Savage pocket automatics, with only about 3,900 manufactured in .380 ACP. The top of the slide is marked with the standard two- line address, patent date, and caliber marking, while the left of the frame has the Savage trademark and the retailer mark “WESTLEY RICHARDS & Co. LONDON W.” It is fitted with the standard blade and notch sights, grip safety,
and checkered hard rubber grips with Savage logos.
CONDITION: Very fine, retains 80% plus of the original
blue finish with the balance having thinned to mostly a smooth grey
patina with a series of minor tool marks near the grip safety pin. The grips are
fine with some scattered light handling marks and otherwise crisp checkering.
Mechanically excellent. B) Savage Model 1907 Pistol - Serial no. 48048, 32 ACP
cal., 3 3/4 inch round bbl., blue finish, hard rubber grips. Manufactured 1910-1911
with the two-line address, patent date, and caliber marking on top of the barrel extension. The left side of the frame is retailer engraved “WESTLEY RICHARDS & Co. LONDON W.” There are British proofs on the frame, slide, and barrel. It is fitted with a blade front sight and notch rear sight, as well as a pair of checkered hard rubber grips with Savage logos.
CONDITION: Very fine, retains 85% plus of the original blue finish with some scattered light handling marks and edge wear. The grips are very good with some scattered minor handling marks and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
