This is a unique example of an Argentine retailer marked DWM Model 1906 Navy pattern commercial Luger pistol with
“J.CANEDO/611 RIVADAVIA, 611/Bs AIRES” marked on top of the barrel. Though the United States was the #1 destination for

Juan Canedo of Buenos Aires, Argentina was one of the merchants helping to fill
this demand. The top of the chamber area is unmarked, the standard “DWM” logo

Rare Bulgarian Contract DWM Model 1906 Luger Semi-Automatic Pistol
- Serial no. 1276, 7.65 mm Luger Auto cal., 4 3/4 inch round bbl., blue finish, walnut grips. Approximately 1,500 of these Model 1906 Luger pistols were ordered by Bulgaria in 1908 in their own serial number range of 1-1500. These Lugers are rarely seen today as they saw heavy use throughout both World Wars, with many captured by the Soviets that never resurfaced. Most of these
were refinished, reworked, and/or rechambered to 9 mm during their service lives. This model has the Bulgarian Crest marked chamber area with the DWM monogram on the front toggle with Cyrillic
safety and extractor markings. The full serial number is located on the front of the receiver and the underside of the barrel with the partial serial number “76” stamped on most of the various other parts, with the grips
unnumbered. It is fitted with blade and notch sights, checkered walnut grips, and a correct pattern, unmarked, nickeled magazine with a walnut base. Per the consignor this pistol was restored by Gale Morgan.
CONDITION: Very fine as professionally restored, retaining 99% blue finish and 85% straw colors. The professionally made replacement grips are also very fine with a few small minor chipped diamond sections and crisp checkering.
    Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 5,000 - 7,500
 LOT 1418
Scarce Mauser/DWM Model 1920/1923 A.F. Stoeger American Eagle
Luger Semi-Automatic Pistol - Serial no. 446v, 30 Luger cal., 4 3/4 inch bbl., blue finish, checkered walnut grips. These Luger pistols were manufactured in Germany during the 1930s by Mauser, after
recently taking over production of Luger pistols from DWM, for Stoeger Arms Corporation to be sold in the U.S. Several different barrel lengths were offered in either 9mm or 7.65mm, and the quantity acquired by Stoeger was rather low, making this Luger a scarce variation. This
example is marked with the “American Eagle” stamp on the chamber and “DWM” on the toggle. “Crown/N” proofs are on the left side of the barrel extension and breech bolt. The numbered parts on the gun are matching, including the barrel which has a restamped Mauser “Crown/U” proof and

“Made in Germany” marked along the bottom. The right side of the barrel extension is marked “A.F. STOEGER INC/NEW YORK.” along with “Germany” above the ejector. The right side rail is marked “GENUINE LUGER -
REGISTERED U.S. PATENT OFFICE.” The extractor is marked “LOADED” and the safety lever marking is “SAFE”. The magazine has a blued body and wood base with an Imperial proof marking.
CONDITION: Very fine as professionally restored with 97% blue finish remaining. Barrel markings are restruck, but the important Stoeger marking appears original. Straw colors are mostly intact. Grips are excellent. Mechanically excellent. Estimate: 4,500 - 6,500
