CONDITION: Excellent. This revolver retains 98% of the bright original high polish blue and color casehardened finish, and appears to be unfired. The barrel and frame show minimal handling wear with some minor flaking (typically found on Remington revolvers even in new condition) on the back strap. The barrel legend and serial number are extremely sharp. The cylinder has nearly all of the blue finish with only traces of turn marks between the stops. The hammer retains 100% of the subdued case colors. Nearly all of the fire blue finish is present on the trigger and cylinder pin. The plated finish on the trigger guard is tarnished. The grips are in near-new condition with almost 100% of the varnish finish. The mahogany case is original and in exceptionally fine condition. The are a few minor handling marks on the lid; the lining is faded and shows compression marks from contact with the revolver and accessories. The cap tin has been opened but has a very fine label and retains most of the lacquer finish. The powder flask is excellent and retains 98% of the brown lacquer finish on the body and 90% of the gold-plated finish on the top and charger. Wear is limited to some finish flaking on the charger, and a tiny dent and hairline scratch on one side of the flask body. The bullet mold is in excellent condition with 85% of the original blue finish. The cleaning rod is in very fine-excellent condition. This is the finest example known of a very rare factory cased Remington Rider DA revolver with accessories that would be nearly impossible to improve upon.
