Exceptional Documented Cased Engraved E. Remington & Sons Rider Magazine Pistol with Virginia, Illinois, History and Book - NSN, 32 XSRF cal., 3 1/8 inch part octagon bbl., nickel finish, antique ivory grips. This very fine Rider Magazine Pistol is pictured and discussed on pages 336-337 of the included copy of “A Life’s Tapestry of a Collector: The Gamble Collection” by George F. Gamble and R.L. Wilson. They note the engraving is “in a style suggesting L.D. Nimschke” and attribute
the presentation display case to Hartley & Graham. The bottom of the case has a c. 1920s-1930s Remington Arms Company, Inc. “C.O.D. MEMORANDUM” on the bottom noting “Rexroat Bros.” of “Virginia, Ills.” (listed in the book as “Reprvat” or “Rexrvat” Bros). The label indicates shipment decades after this model had been dropped from production.
