It is fitted with a Lyman beaded blade front sight, two-leaf express rear sight, and a Lyman tang mounted peep sight. It has the desirable early production casehardened receiver which was only standard on the Model 1886 until 1902. It is mounted with a smooth forearm with casehardened nose cap and straight grip stock with a smooth steel shotgun buttplate.
CONDITION: Exceptionally fine, retains 95% of the original
blue finish on the barrel an magazine with some evidence
of cleaning on the muzzle, 80% plus of the refinished blue
on the buttplate, and 75% plus of the vibrant original case
colors on the receiver with the balance having thinned to
mostly a smooth grey patina. The wood is very good with
some scattered minor dings and scratches throughout.
Mechanically excellent. Do not miss this chance at one of
the most desirable pieces in Winchester collecting!
Estimate: 30,000 - 45,000
