Large Grouping of American Aviation Badges - The grouping includes two Naval Aviator wings, a single-wing “US” badge, “O” observer badge, five bombardment wing badges, eighteen “US” wing badges, twenty- seven total. Many are constructed from silver, with the Naval wings gold washed and one
of the bombardment wings in silver wire bullion. One of the US wing sets is inscribed “FROM/E.W.McCOLLUM/AND CREW/TO/MAJOR PEABODY/U.S.A.”, another has “DSN” cut into the back, and one of the naval sets is inscribed “LT.ROBERT/NICHOLSON/12-5-28”; McCollum, Peabody, “DSN” and Nicholson have not been positively identified.
CONDITION: Very good overall.

Grouping of Aviation/Flight Patches and Decorations, Mostly Pertaining to
North Africa in World War II - The grouping includes a brass-trimmed Presidential
Unit Citation ribbon, OD green patch with four Overseas Service bars, an Army Air Force Technician Badge with “AP ARMORER” bar, a cloth ribbon patch with the Good Conduct, American Defense and Europe/Africa/Middle East ribbons (the latter with four stars), a bullion wire Army Air Force shoulder patch, a triangular patch with a yellow bomb and
a small “U.S.A.” cuff. Also present are five patches featuring the WWII-era emblem of the 85th Fighter Squadron (a flying skull with wings, two painted on leather, one printed on treated canvas, and two embroidered), two patches for the Desert Air Force (“DAF” over a winged shield with American and British roundels, one embroidered and one in bullion wire), and an unidentified patch (gold bullion on green rectangular field, featuring a standing falcon and a snake hanging off a red sun).
CONDITION: The falcon patch shows wear and holes, with some mild staining on the bullion DAF patch and light handling marks and wear overall.
