Documented Texas Shipped First Generation Colt Single Action Army Revolver with Factory Letter and Holster - Serial no. 243846, 45 Long Colt cal., 4 3/4 inch round bbl., blue/casehardened finish, hard rubber grips. The factory letter lists the revolver in .45 caliber with a 4 3/4 inch barrel and blue finish when shipped to Jackson & Hughes Co. in El Paso, Texas, in a shipment with 20 guns of this type on August 17, 1903. The Jackson-Hughes Co. was active from c. 1900 until 1950. In 1903, they were listed as a ‘large wholesale hardware and saddlery house” and advertised buggies and other horse drawn vehicles. The revolver has standard markings and features, including matching serial numbers. Includes a lightly floral tooled holster hand-marked “RWH” on the rear.
CONDITION: Very good with a very attractive western used look. The metal displays trac of original finish in the protected areas and otherwise a mottled gray and brown patina along with some mild oxidation/pitting, dings and marks, and holster wear. The grips ar also very good and have moderately hand worn checkering, edge wear, and attractive aged coloration. Mechanically fine. The holster is good with age hardening, distinct designs, and moderate overall wear. An attractive early 20th century Texas Colt. Estimate: 2,250 - 3,500
finish, deluxe walnut stock. This rifle was manufactured in 1886 and special ordered to fit the specific desires of a now unknown marksman and looks like it would
have made an excellent hunting rifle in the late 19th century. It features a Marble Sheard front sight, no rear sight dovetail on the part-octagon barrel which is marked
with the two-line address and patent marking near the center and “44 W.C.F.” at the breech, casehardened Third Model frame with integral dust cover guide rail, “44 CAL” on the
elevator, tang mounted Lyman peep sight, deluxe checkered forearm and pistol grip stock with contrasting grip inlay and smooth steel shotgun buttplate.
CONDITION: Good with traces of original blue and casehardened finish, mix of dark brown and mottled gray patina on the balance, and general mild overall wear. The wood is also good and has visible but heavily worn checkering, a slight gap at the rear of the forearm, beautiful figure on the butt, some filler at the tip of the comb, some dings and scratches, and mild overall wear. Mechanically excellent. This rifle has a lot of “Old West” character!

Period Engraved and Retailer Inscribed Winchester
Model 1866 Lever Action Saddle Ring Carbine - Serial
no. 46704, 44 CF cal., 20 inch round bbl., nickel finish, walnut
stock. This carbine was manufactured in 1870 and has a blade front sight
on the upper barrel band, two-leaf rear sight, saddle ring on the left, smooth stock and forearm,
and brass buttplate. The frame and buttplate have scroll, crosshatch, and floral engraving, and the frame
is inscribed “BROQUA/&/SCHOLBERG” on the left and “142 CALLE/RINCON/MONTEVIDEO.” This firm was formed
by Alfonso Broqua of Montevideo, Uruguay, and Clementine Suyder Scholberg of Liege, Belgium, in 1856. While Winchester’s lever actions were popular in the American West, many also went to Central and South America which were politically unstable in the period and had a series of civil and international
conflicts. The Paraguayan War (War of the Triple Alliance, 1864-1870) was coming to a close in 1870 and the Revolution of the Lances (1870-1873) was beginning. CONDITION: Good with mottled brown patina on the iron, strong traces period nickel on the brass, aged patina on the balance, dented magazine tube, bulge on the elevator,
cracked rear sight, converted bolt, and absent mainspring screw. The undersized, refinished wood is good with moderate wear, some flakes and small chips, and repaired break in the toe. Mechanically fine. This Model 1866 carbine looks like it could tell some stories!
